So I am finally going to start painting my DE, My goal is to get 1750 pts done by the end of this month, and another 1000 pts each month after that until it is all finished.

Here is a approximate list of the models shown:

Every single special character
2 Archons
1 Dracon
12 Incubi
3 Heamons
12 Grotq
200+ warriors
40+ wyches
11 Raiders
3 Ravagers
1 FW Dark Eldar Raven
9 Jetbikes
5 Warpbeast with packmaster
A stack of sprues
A big pile of bitz to repair all the other stuff listed

As you may see in the pictures the raiders have all had the tails clipped off of them, this is to accommodate the sails that I have created, the end result will look something like jabba's sail barge.

Lol

This is an ambitious goal - Ive probably got 3000 points of CSM, and 2500 unpainted. Im churning my way through them, but doing it on the 'one model at a time' approach. I found that setting huge targets just made the process that much more daunting, and more subject to failure.

If youre going to hit this large number of models, I recommend you think about your plan - what order you will be painting the models in, how you will deal with 'fatigue' and boredom, and other practical matters.

Also, keep posting pics to Dakka, its a great way to get feedback, and to keep motivated.

Best of luck!

I have a reputation, Modile, a reputation as a fair, honest man who treats his soldiers well and supports them in the face of darkness. Potentially, that reputation makes me soft. It seems I understand failure and forgive it. Some, like Kowle, believe me to be a weak commissar, not prepared to take the action my rank demands. Not prepared to enforce field discipline where I see it failing. I am an Imperial commissar. I will enflame the weak, support the wavering, guide the lost. I will be all things to all men who need me. But I will also punish without hesitation the weak, the incompetent, and the treasonous.
I am a Commissar. I am empowered to deliver justice wherever I see it lacking. I am empowered to punish cowardice. I am granted the gift of total authority to judge, in the name of the Emperor, on the field of combat.

Have fun! Most people don't realize how amazing you can make DE look with a good paint job, because they can't think outside of the GW DE paint schemes, which are lame.
I had a blast painting my DE. I like my paint scheme enough that I'm always proud to play with them. You're welcome to check out my DE in the gallery if you're lookin for ideas.

You can't spell 'slaughter' without 'laughter'.
By the time they scream... It's too late.

Can't wait to see your progress with these guys, I sort of ran out of steam with my DE because I didn't set myself consistent goals like you, looking forwad to seeing all these sail raiders at full mast!

I think dark eldar really benefit from having silver paint mixed with whatever color you paint them with. Good luck with all those tiny fething little knives they have all over not breaking.

That looks like it will be a tough job, but dark eldar, IMO can be one of the best looking armies in 40k. A nice simple pallet can go a long way and is easy to pull off.

Back when I had DE I only used Chain mail, liche purple, chaos black and blood red with some inks and could do about 500pts in a weekend. But I think you could do better. All the best and upload picks so we can see how it goes.

40k: - Cadian 231st, Death Guard, Sisters, Dark Eldar Iyanden, Scythes of the Emperor

WHFB Armies: High Elves, Empire, WoC, Beastmen, Lizardmen, Dark Elves, Vampires
