Looks very interesting - but I'll need some positive reviews and/or encouragement before buying!

(Which I want to do, because it looks as if it will finally allow me to target Tacobake with, if not an Orbital Laser, then at least some variation of a Wave Motion Gun!)

Sounds like it'd be right up my alley. I'll give the demo a look.

So, what did you think of the demo?

Yes or no?

Waiting, patiently...

Played it and the 1st expansion for a solid two months.

Fun game for the price. Definitely would appeal to war gamers since you design every one of your ships around a points system, create a fleet out of your ships, give them vague orders and watch them blow stuff up. Each ship design is kind of like a sims game where you have to balance power, crew, engines, weight, defense and weapons. For example AI controlled point defenses require less crew but use more power.

The challenge system they have is awesome because it doesn't require looking for a game. Since you don't control any of your ships, besides assigning pre-battle orders, you play against the fleets that other players uploaded without needing them to be online.

The only thing bad I have to say is you better figure out a naming system before you start making ships otherwise it becomes a massive hassle keeping track of all your designs.

In His Heaven.

Mmm, great, great game. I never played the expansions, but loved the core set and enjoyed it for many days. The only thing I wish was less restriction on my use of fighters. I love fighters, what do you mean I can only have fifty pilots?

The positioning and deployment of your ships is important, but later you often have to spend quite awhile setting orders to win. Like attaching squadrons of fighters and frigate groups to your battleships (Frigates will fly ahead and just die if you don't keep them -behind- the tougher cap ships) which made it quite fun trying to figure out the proper combo to beat a mission or challenge.

Maybe your grandiose vocabulary is a pathetic compensation for an insufficiency in the nether regions of your anatomy.

It's called Gratuitous Space Battles, what the hell else do you need?

I'm not getting it, but only because my computer is so old that it cannot run the game.

Inside your mind, corrupting the pathways

That looks pretty damn cool

Are the graphics for the ships modular as well, or are they all pre-set?
