A friend of mine (a *very* accomplished painter and modeller- if you're an old-school GW / FW follow you'll have heard of him) wants to get shot of his Bloodbowl table, and I'm looking for advice / feedback on whether he might get a few pennies for it.

It's built into a coffee table (approx 4ft x 4ft, standing around 2'6" off the deck, of which 6" or so is the 'block' containing the pitch and recesses).
It's got:
recessed dugouts and dice-rolling trays with details (play boards with chalk, benches, coffins, blood trails, a wheelbarrow with a dismembered skaven and more)
hole-pegged score, turn and reroll trackers with a halfling cheerleader and chef, goblin cheerleader and musician, barrels for score tracking
fully textured and line-painted pitch (sand and static grass)
lots of little details - vines / ivy, lizards, coiled snakes, little mushroom patches

It really is the mutt's nuts - painted and detailed way, way beyond Warhammer World sort of quality. It needs some minor repairs and a bit of a dusting/ gentle vacuum (I won't take photos till theyre done). Take my word for it that it's absolutely lovely - just a space hog that we in our local group don't have room for (having kids running around does that).

Roughly how much do you guys reckon it might be worth? Is it even saleable? Shipping it would be nightmarish...

It sounds cool.
But I have played on some custom pitches before, and many sound like great ideas until you try to play on them.

depending where its located, if your in the UK, the price is right and it looks appealing enough someone could be tempted to come pick it up as part of a trip.

Ugh. It's hard to take photos in the dark. I forgot to take the tripod, too, so the wide angle shot was ruined. Repairs should be made soon, at which point we'll try to arrange a day to get some decent pics done. In the meantime here's some shots that did come out alright:











The white flecks you can see are polystyrene foam, and as you can see there's some static grass and dust spilt into it. Like I said, it needs a bit of a clean up.

Well, I would like to make an offer but I face a 300 mile round trip to pick it up and that would cost me a fortune in fuel.

Yeah, at some point next week hopefully. There's been an extension on its tenancy in my mate's (another mate, not the builder) gaming shed, while it's being repaired, and I'll try to remember to take my camera when I go...

You definately need more and better photos, especially photos of the who thing.

The more you sell it, th higher the price.

You can be pretty much guaranteed someone will buy it, i would try and sell it globally rather than locally or natioanlly, it will need heavy packaging anyway, and someone will be willing to pay.

Do an open auction, i.e. stop when you reach a price you like. I would go a little way beyond actually and give plenty of time for people to pay as unfortunately with stuff like this the winner is often a teenage kid with as wannabe bankaccount. You might have to go down two or three reserve winners because you get the first genuine high bid.

Having sent enough stuff abroad through my own commissions, there is no way this would arrive intact after the international shipping experience. Cost as well is prohibitive - it's a minimum of 5' by 5' by 2' of package. Even within the UK, shipping is going to be most efficient by putting it in the back of a (large) car.

Photos will be taken. If its definitely to be sold, I think its tenancy in another friend's shed has been extended till it is, which is good.

The table certainly looks lovely, and it'll be great to get full pics.

The builder's off to hospital for an operation so repairs have been delayed. Now I've found the thread I'll pop some pics in as soon as I can.

Just wanted to pop in and say beautiful work. Kudos to whom acquires it!
