So I want to make a Techmarine with a conversion beamer, but I have no idea what it looks like. Has anyone attempted to model this? what did you base it off of. Any images or ideas are welcome because I am stumped.

It's from the old Space Crusade boardgame. The marines were red, blue and yellow.

There were a couple of other plastic versions... One from an old Chaos set and one from (IIRC) the Space Crusade dreadnought. They all look more or less the same... just not as blue.

Yeah, I have a pile of the old Space Crusade bits - the dread version is much the same but bigger.

The detail isn't nearly as crisp as modern plastics, naturally, but the conversion beamer is one of the better weapon models from that era.

You can make up your own version that looks quite different of course - fluffwise, such rare weapons are quite possibly individually handbuilt by/for each techmarine. Being the size of a heavy weapon seems right to me, but I guess it could be built-in to one of the limbs of a tech backpack?

It was in the expansion pack. You got 2 additional chaos dreadnoughts (a scout with long legs and a heavy with 4 weapon hardpoints), 3 TL-LC tarantulas and new heavy weapons for the marines. "Mission Dreadnought" I think the name was.

Please excuse any spelling errors. I use a tablet frequently and software keyboards are a pain!

Actually you lose the servo-harness and the bolter when you take the C-beamer. I have one based on the exhaust part of a SM jump pack. It's built around a Btech weapon arm with a Terminator shoulder. I have cables made of tightly twisted fine wire running from a custom back back. Of course it is on a Squat Exo Armor model. Sorry, no pics, All I have is a small instamatic style digi cam that takes lousy closeups.

Of all the races of the universe the Squats have the longest memories and the shortest tempers. They are uncouth, unpredictably violent, and frequently drunk. Overall, I'm glad they're on our side!

Just make it look big and techy. There aren't too many restrictions on how it should look since they haven't made models for them since the aforementioned Space Crusade. I have an old Rapier Laser Destroyer that I may use as mine!

Is there a foregrip or something on the other side of that Blue Cannon? Or is it supposed to be one-handed? If so, yeek!

It also depends on the model I think the chaos one had the hand holding the underside with the fingers visible but I could be wrong
