Later than usual, finally the official pics for the release of this month have been published. Oddly enough, they have been published first in the Russian Infinity web, instead of the Spanish or the English one

We still don't know if the late publishing of the pics means that the release date of the minis will be put back a few days too. Usually the news are published about 20th of the month, and released on 15th of the next month.

The pics!!

Ariadna ADHL Chasseur

PanOceania Knight of Montesa

ALEPH Marut (TAG)

Haqqislam Hassasin Fiday with boarding shotgun

YuJing Shang Ji with combi rifle and light flamethrower (same from a starter pack)

...

What a fething useless Chasseur model. What's been nice about Ariadna is even the female models have been looking very much like their male counterparts.

Now we get midriff shirt with a hugeass ponytail?

Call me disappointed.

The rest are great though. The Fiday matches the other Hassassin females that've been done so no problem there...but still. Ridiculous.

Seems the Russian folks snagged the images from the TGN article this morning and didn't give any credit. Bad Russians!

I think it's bloody great!

Once again, Infinity brings home more amazing minis. I am definitely going to give these guys a go soon as I'm settled stateside.

Don't get me wrong:
I absolutely love the models I have, as they are fantastic sculpts. The Loup-Garou and the Chasseur(talking about the one from the Ariadnan starter set here) are amazing and full of character. But this? This is ridiculous, and seems to be a model that would fit better with the Nomads or the Yu-Jing faction rather than Ariadna.

I will also say this for them:
The guys who work on the Infinity stuff are also a fantastic bunch who will do everything they can to help clear up any issues.

it's called Infinity, bro...
Affinity is probably some perfume...

i don't understand your aversion to the sexy chick minis...
the first girl we got for Ariadna, the Para-Commando w/HMG, was a mid-riff flashin', giant pair of ponytails havin', huge gun totin' cutie, and easily one of my favorite Infinity minis...
check out Equipe Mirage 5, as Margot is showin' some tummy as well...
seems to be the Merovingian style to me...
the Chasseur didn't turn out as cool as her illustration in the book though:(

to each there own i guess...

this new Maruts is going to make it into my painting queue ASAP...
sexy robot!

cheers

There's something rather 'Lara Croft' about the Chasseur. I like it, though.

A fantastic bunch all around this month. Anyone have any idea how tall the Marut is? Looks like a very interesting Wraithlord stand-in...

Loving the new Shang Ji.

Pity no one plays Infinity here...

Agreed. And her chest might as well have an "shoot my heart" sign on it given how much cleavage she's showing. Lame.

Annoying how frakking hard it is to find a military female model at heroic scale whom is professionally dressed instead of dressing like a harlot who's more interested in seducing men than killing her enemies.

The people in the past who convinced themselves to do unspeakable things were no less human than you or I. They made their decisions; the only thing that prevents history from repeating itself is making different ones.

Actually, the "first girl" for Ariadna was this lass:

Line Kazak II
followed by:

Both of which actually look somewhat military(especially the second) and easily keep in the Merovingian/Kazaki theme.

If you don't 'get' the style that is the inspiration for Infinity, I guess you don't... get it.

Or, like it.

This range is amazing, really unique compared to the rest of the stuff out there, super crisp sculpts, excellent, elegant proportions, variety of offerings...

I'm gonna have to get a few of these in the distant future when I have painted what I already have lol

It's the inconsistencies that irk me.

Ariadna has always been the faction that strikes me as being utilitarian. There's no crazy warrior-monks, no superninja spies, etc. There's just them and primitive firearms, with some werewolves. And they tended to, even the women at least, look like they were prepared for campaigning in what was described as a desperate wilderness.

That's what irks me--when they go from "utilitarian hardcore badasses" to "our women have giant ponytails and show belly and cleavage! TEEHEEHEE!"

Completely unfamiliar with the fluff, but ya that sounds irksome. It's annoying when a company ignores it's own story and background.

For me, purely sculpt based, I find that most minis are slightly stunted, with short legs and long torsos, and giant heads. It is it's own aesthetic that has it's own appeal that I like on it's own merit, but whenever I see this line I just find the proportions so much more appealing, and can't help but admire the detail.

Is the backstory interesting enough for a read?

They're beautiful, but also a bit dull. The PanOceania knight looks exactly like the other half dozen knights they already have, etc. Nothing exciting about it at all.

The supply does not get to make the demands.

I thought it looked more like Nomads than Ariadna.

I like the pose and weapon and stuff.

The bare midriff can be painted over, of course.

Now thats a very cool move from infinity, to provide the Yujing fella independent from the starter box to all the fans.

God I dont know which is cooler now... the Yujing or Aleph... I need to stop looking at these or my walet is going to cry.

Well, the Ariadna Starter is one of the few that has been renewed. The pic you post is from the new starter (from 2008 maybe?). But the mini you wanted to show is in the first version of the starter

I've seen that the Spanish site has been updated this morning. I guess that the English site has been updated too.

I still haven't seen the mini next to a normal scale one, but according to what I've read in their forum it would be like other tags, about once and a half the height of a standard mini. IIRC they also said that it would have some options, at least about the pose. The "ears" can be removed and it still looks good, if people likes it better, and small details like that. I can't remember if there were weapon options, my guess is not.

Edit: wait, I found a pic!

@Kanluwen: i was thinking only of the Merovingian girls, not the Kazaks...
i like the sexiness of the French girls, but that's just my opinion...
the Para-Commando was the first chick that really got me into Ariadna's minis...

@Erasoketa: thanks for the scale pic...
i really like this TAG, and the ears are cute...
