Has there been any confirmation on when/how the pledge manager will reopen? He seems to be ducking that question in the comments.

There are literally thousands of logistic companies with the ability and willingness to redistribute for him. 5410 people have pledged towards Kingdom Death. Obviously I don't know the breakdown of who lives where and what they have ordered, but if we assume a conservative 1000 have ordered from within the EU that gives Poots $45,000 to deal with EU shipping. 1x 20' ISO container, and a truck either side to deliver from his warehouse and to the distributor, plus their third party fee. I've run distribution from the UK to the Middle East by air, rail and sea. If Poots thinks it is not possible, and that it is acceptable to lumber me with over a $200 bill when i have already paid him a good chunk of cash, then he really is not looking hard enough.

Perhaps you ought to set something up for him? If there are ~1000 fellows in the EU who would benefit and are looking at something like 100-200$ apiece you could make a fair bit of cash yourself while saving them a lot of money.

I was thinking the same thing!

Shoot him an e-mail explaining your plan - who knows, you could make a lot of money AND a lot of new EU based friends!

@Still Standding,

Please feel free to send me contacts for the logistics companies you mentioned.

I am doing my best, but I am not a logistics expert. I am also not responsible for individuals taxes or countries various laws. Thus far every company we have spoken and done background research on, has lead us to a single conclusion...

We have yet to find a solution wherein I feel confident that nearly half a million in product will be packaged and shipped appropriately to each backer.

Please keep in mind that some parts of the project are not being packaged and shrink wrapped in china and sent over in a series of ready to go freights. It is essential that all parts of the projects end in a singular place. Not being able to oversee that personally (as it would work with a foreign logistics company) does not sit right with me.

@Adam
How do you intend to pack everything as of now? Yourself and a few volunteers? Or are you hiring a company to help?

@KoganStyle,

If there was a big red juicy "finish now" button, I would have slammed it months ago. The reality of the process is simple, as only a finite number of hard plastic tools can be finalized a month. Even if we didn't add more art or content, the time resource would remain the same.

@Still Standing, I never said "hard luck, suck it up and pay an extra $230US".

@BrookM, I am not super thrilled either. I simply cannot continue making estimates based on timelines that I don't have exacting control over. I opted for truth and transparency, plain and simple and I needed to make an official statement that covered all parties. Including, the backers, myself, the team and the vendors.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
@Sinful Hero,

Myself, Joe and Anna will be heading up the packing and fulfillment. We have a few regulars that we hire during heavy order leads and will most likely grab a few more to speed up the process. It is vital to me that people familiar with the product pack everyones reward boxes. I'd like to see less then 1% errors, which is what we have reached for our normal orders.

Cheers for popping in Adam,

Sadly I think you're right about the pitfalls of a random logistics company packing stuff they just don't understand about

(it's shown when companies like Mantic have had their own office staff pack pledges, lots of mistakes get made and that's using extra staff who might well understand what they're packing even if its not their normal job)

Oh and I love the Wetnurse Pinup that arrived last week

Got mine today. Can't wait to get a thick coat of primer on it, then undiluted paint, too much wash and then a liberal amount of drybrush on it!

Don't forget to greenstuff over the mold lines since it's faster than cleaning them.

Actually, I've found that if you strongly scrape the cutting edge of a large pair of household scissors along the mould lines, it does the trick in a minimal amount of time - gets rid of just about everything! And Top Tip for drybrushing - only ever do it in white. I know that there's a lot of talk going around about complimentary colours and whatnot, but white is lighter than everything - does the entire job in one go, and you get that prized 'dusty' look to boot.

...I genuinely don't know what I'm going to do about painting these. Once you've painted one survivor, you then have to paint every single one you're going to use in the future or the contrast will look terrible! And it sounds like you'll be changing them quite often. Although, because the line will be in a white/light grey plastic, it will look quite nice and 'statuesque' when left unpainted.

If you do thin coats and use a diluted wash, you could just grayscale them. Force a bit of artificial light on the whole model, and you're done. Just a suggestion, but it might be worth a try.

The only problem I've ever had with thinning paint is going overboard with it. Still not sure if it's the brush (usually synthetic) or the combination of water, paint, and flow improver.

Not an issue most of the time but I've learned to test my paint away from the finer detail.

The model I'm most excited to paint would have to be the Dragon King. At the same time, it's a daunting proposition.

I bet shortly after this ships professional painting services are going to be swamped. If they are not advertising and lining up customers in advance, they should be.

Of course, hilarity will ensue with scathing reviews for professional painters when those miniatures come back at less-than-golden-demon standards.

I'm guessing that a KD:M set "done right" will cost significantly more than the pledge alone.

I know that for my part as a "professional painter" (I do commissions, ymmv on the term "professional"), I'm gonna be having my hands full for my -own- massive box of plastic crack.

That and Im even a bit hesitant to put brush to some of these

I'm working to get myself back up to snuff, it should be a nice challenge.

If all else fails, paint them all as statuary or something. A bit nonsensical but at least it'd be easy to make them look good.

Plenty of time to get practice before this ships . With no estimate given, I'm going to say Q3 2015 for this to be completely fulfilled. Mark me down now! I kept thinking people were overestimating Dreamforge's timeline, but we're still waiting... thankfully he has given a clear chart of remaining tasks, but even with that project further along and having started much earlier, I'll be thrilled if its last wave ships in 2014.

No estimate = end not in sight... that said, the chart of remaining tasks for tooling for Kingdom Death was also good. Obviously tons of progress has been made, but there's a lot left to do!

Q3 2015?!?

You had BETTER be wrong!

My patience will have run out long before then!

I'm guessing either and end of year 2014 or, if that gets missed, an end of Q1 2015 shipment date...

I'm going to say Q1 2015 at the latest for all non-US backers. Amerikanski should have their pledges in hand well before that.

With store orders KD are pretty good about shipping in order of purchase,

so they might just do that for the KS too

although I'll understand if they want to get the easier US stuff done first...... I'll cry but I'll understand

Hello! I will answer 1 question about the game (or exapnsions), but only 1! First come, first serve!

Jul 23 2014 on Kingdom Death : Monster

Sneaky! However that questions isn't really specific enough to answer. Weapons don't come with armor sets. There are weapons you can craft at locations and there are plastic weapons on sprues that also have parts for armor sets.

Jul 23 2014 on Kingdom Death : Monster

The showdown with the Spidicules has a nest in the center of the board. Spidicules communicates with it's spawn at a frequency we cannot hear. Interestingly enough, whatever rotting human is hanging from its special appendage will twitch and have different muscle spasms, depending on the message communicated. In game terms, Spidicules has a series of mood cards that effect the spawns behavior and on each card is an illustration of the hanging human in a different twitchy pose.

I'm so glad that I went in for one of everything that had 'game content'...
