Has anyone used the new Bits and Kits UK( http://www.bitsandkits.co.uk/ )? I was lucky enough to stumble on these guys as they were first opening their old site. They had great prices, 1st to offer FW bits, great shipping from UK to USA and pretty good customer service. I've sent messages which have all gone unanswered. I'd like to confirm they are alive and shipping prior to sending my cash.

Yeah I used it to order some Rippers. Their prices are very competitive and they have a very speedy delivery. I would definitely recomment them.

I ordered from them once, simply because my usual supplier wouldn't part out the bitz I was looking for.
Bitz and Kitz delivered promptly, with no issues.

I used them for the AoBR rulebook, templates and some predator stuff. Quick and cheap.
As with allot of small firms the communication can be poor. I have seen a few firms of this type respond on these forums, allot state that their email systems are filtering allot of these types of queries as spam. Not sure if thats true/accurate, but I would stick with it and they should come good.

I used them about a week ago, everything I ordered was with me in about 5 working days. I use them, bitzbox and model bits, all 3 have been very good.

They are *really* bad at communication. :(
Their prices are excellent, especially when they put stuff on special offer, but at least 50% of my orders from them have had problems, and generally those problems only get resolved after they've ignored 3 or 4 emails from me and I end up threatening to go through PayPal or my credit card to get the money back from them.
I am about to contact my credit card company over a mere £3' worth of stuff missing from my latest order with them about 2 months back, because they've ignored my emails and my use of their web form.
At this stage I don't plan to use them again, because the amount of hassle involved is more significant to me than their low prices. I would far rather pay a bit more and order from other sites that have people capable of communicating when there's a problem.

I use them frequently and have never had an issue with them.
I have never attempted email communication with them since I've never had cause.

Communication with them has been 50/50 in my experience. Sometimes they have a GWUS level of response time (ie. often they've replied before I've even finished writing the E-mail). But the other half of the time they have FW levels of customer service (ie. no responce for months to the point of denying that E-mail even exists as a concept).
Just depends what mood they're in I 'spose. Never had a problem with an order though. Not ordered through them in a while mind, as they've been out of stock of everything for so long (what with the new site being built) and, once built, didn't seem to restock either. Shame.

I also use Bitz Box regularly and Model Bits on one occasion. Both firms were very good as well.

I've probably ordered from them about half a dozen times, so I might just have been unlucky in terms of the number of problem orders (at least 3-4), but it's always taken several emails, and usually threats, to get anywhere in terms of resolving the problems.
They are very nice and polite and apologetic when they finally do reply... it's still no way to run a business, though, even a small one. :(

My order went like this:
5/27/10- Payment received
5/31/10- Awaiting picking
6/3/10- Shipped
6/11/10- Package arrived
This is slow compared to how quickly they used to my orders to me.
In regards to people's issues with their customer service and ignoring e-mails, I went through similar. However, I did receive an e-mail from them the other day stating they recognized their issues with responding to people, blamed it on their e-mail service, and said they set up a new google mail account. Supposedly, this will allow them to get our e-mails and be more responsive.
I used to use them for all of my bits, but due to slow restock and this latest round of slow shipping, I'll likely take my business elsewhere. I've made over 15 purchases from them and expect the service to get better, not worse/ slower.

Gamble, do you have a current email addy for them? I can't get the old one I used to use to work (sales@bitsandkits.co.uk) -- it just bounces -- and their web-form seems to go straight to their Recycle Bin...

Sorry, I've already deleted the e-mail with the announcement. I'm confident it was a google mail account though so it's gotta be a "bits and kits @ gmail" type address.

Hmm, OK -- thanks anyway.
Edit -- thanks again! I did a search on bitsandkits, and gmail, and spotted this thread:
