Looks great, nice detailing. It going to need alot of weathering & griming up. A little bit of textured spray paint in spots might look good. Other than that, it looks ace! How are you planning on painting it? Are you going to air brush it?

Nice, can't see anything that needs added to it. Can't wait to see it painted.

Thanx for the kind words

@Hits_the_spot Weathering and griming will be done when I start painting it. Textured paint is a great idea, never thought of it . I think airbrushing is the way to go, it's a big
I'm planning to give it the colours of the legio mortis (black with red trim)

@CommissarKhaine Hmmm.... Yes rivets. Thought about that, I may be to lazy for it

At 25 inches, this thing should be a Warlord at least, or even an Imperator!

@The Dreadnote It will be a Plasma blastgun

@ f74 We have a winner! I just changed the top bit, it looked to Imperial for my taste

@Valkyrie I always thought a warlord be at 31 inch/80 cm

Well Forge World Reavers are 16", and from all sources I've read, like other Warlord posts, the optimum height for a Warlord was 26"

Great looking model...the only criticism I have is that the head doesn't do the titan justice.

It doesn't have the heavy, industrial look I like on Imperial titans. The three pin-wheels make it look confusing, and its jaw is not strong enough to produce sufficient menace. I hate to suggest changing it...but thats the only part that doesn't work for me. This is like a miniature Imperator. (Imperators are FAR bigger than this, judging by infantry scale, considering there are cavernous halls, rooms etc. inside Imperators).

Top notch job though.

@Valkyrie Oeps, guess I've got to add a gun somehow. Atleast it will dwarf a FW one

@ The Dreadnote Thanx for the comparison guide (should have checked it out before I started )

@ Elbows Ah yes....the head, I see where you are going. It had a complete church on it's back but I didn't like that, no sir. Being a chaos reaver ( size booboo, sorry) from the legio mortis it bears a skull head, the triclopes eyes is it's mark of nurgle

So what to do about the size Leave it, add a gunn or break it's legs I think I'll leave it, bigger is better, right
I took Commissarkhaine's advise and started rivetting, well I've spent the day so far cutting the damn things and will start sticking them tomorrow. So I'll better get back to it if you guys want to see it painted soon.

Cheers!

@ egor 71 great job , love it already and i,m glued to this thread , i agree MORE RIVETS make it more chaos looking.

@ Elbows , those three pinwheel window thingamagicies are probably some chaos-nurgle attempt of mind control ( LOL hahahaha)

@the Dreadnote , dont take offense to what i,m going to say its not intended , but those sizes aren,t completely accurate, fluffwise.

(i,m a fluff freak -its an addiction )

According to the Titan comics,Mechanicus and Titanicus Novel and some and other codices over the years and other official background fluff.
A Warlord Class Titan would be twice the height of a Reaver class and almost 3 times that of a Warhound.
That would make a Warlord aprox 30 inches / 75-80 cm in height if you take the size of the forgeworld reaver as a comparison
And fluffwise an Imperator Class would be around 30% bigger around 40 inches/104 cm
Just like the Imperator prototype armorcast made and never got a chance to produce 40 inches tall,24 inches wide and 19 inches deep.
(google the image -awesome proto)
Most people that build Warlords are either scared of building into those heights or are more concerned with transporting them to and from their gamingstores or other place for carnage.
thats probably why most of them stay between 60 to 70 cm in height.

You,ve probably made youre size comparrison chart using the sketches from the apocalypse books and these were ,sorry to say, never meant to be truly in scale ,Just like 40k vehicles in comparrison to the minis.

Again dont, be offended , its not my intension..May you always roll sixes to hit and wound .

I,m currently just like egor71 building a Titan an Warlord Class according to the fluff sizes of around 80 cm,s , if i a get the chance over the next two weeks ill start a post with some pictures if youre interested.

Egor71 keep on going show us some paint on that beast........

It needs maybe some rivets, and also the fortress at the top looks a bit too un-warlike. Put a few more spikes or some heavy bolters or something. Needs a bit more armour. Otherwise, it looks awesome.

I say leave it.It's just a game, and it's not like you're modelling for advantage. Adding a gun would imbalance the model IMO. Besides, what marks this out as a warlord profile to me is the general build, not the actual height. To change that would mean starting over, and I think thhis titan looks really good, whatever class it is!

So, how's the rivetting going? Sanity going down the drain?

So build a "true-scale" titan if you want. Regardless of whether my chart is accurate to fluff, it is accurate to existing titan models and the most recent data on how big they would be on the game table.

Fluff changes all the time. If tomorrow GW turns around and says "actually titans are THIS big" the chart will change too.
