I totally do! I have been the GM since it came out and all of the players have made it to the higher ranks so we just started using the Ascension book. I have a post with photos only a few threads down. I like to mix the tabletop 40k game with Dark Heresy sometimes. I had all the characters create equivelant 40k miniatures and they fought along side the Ultramarines against the tyranids. It was epic.

I'd love to play but don't have any friend who are into RPG and 40k- I have loads into RPG and loads into 40k but no crossover! Weird.

Anyway, it looks like a great book but I'm also a little confused about the 'two systems'. Is Rogue Trade the same ruleset, or different? Why release two rulesets? Too confusing! Heeeelp!

I would love to play also but my entire group decided they would rather play World of Warcraft. We should start a PbP or a GoogleWave game.

WOW..... I lost a couple great gaming buddies due to WoW... I used to play WOW, and enjoyed it, but I realized really quickly I neglected everyone around me, my family and my friends. It really sucks when someone is playing with some dudes across the globe and you can't even get them to cross the street to play rpg or 40k.

Anyhow I thought I would throw that out there..... now comes the pro-WoW responses. :-)

I play (or rather GM) RT and DH a lot. I use both systems, as they each have unique takes on certain things, but luckily they are similar enough to be integrated together. I tend to favor RT more though, since it lends more to sandbox play and less railroading, which my players enjoy.

I played for 3 years. Did it while working a really gakky job as a pizza delivery driver/bitch boy so I spent all my extra time living in a better world. But when I quit working their I started playing TTRPG more and forgot how much I loved them and haven't really looked back since.

I play in a game that runs every two weeks. We have 6 people that rotate in and out with no less then 4 at any game. It's a mixed Dark Heresy and Rogue trader (mostly DH). Love the game and it doesn't seem to be stopping anytime soon.

I have come to steal your pornography and sodomize my vast imagination.

Still playing it here.

We're a little over two weeks away from our 7th all-day session in the big 5-act Campaign we've got going.

I have a majority of the books and several chars ready, but lack a local group or a steady schedule for online play. If any of you mugs are in japan I'm up for a session or two!

As if on cue, you hear two people singing from the stairwell, and the door is opened and a pair of very smelly, very dirty guardsmen stumble in, completely drunk, and covered in vomit, and immediately collapse unconsious on the porch. You drag them to their beds, realising that they will not be waking up for some time.

We played for awhile, I was the GM, but we cycle so no one gets burnt out and the current GM is a big 4th Ed DnD supporter, my DH campaign is set to start again in a few months so I have been reading a bunch of fluff again instead of my huge stack of non-fiction books...

We still play. My original players just restarted our campaign and took on new recruits. The game is running much more smoothly now, but still just as hilarious.

I notice there is rarely any DH talk on Dakka though.

Actually just played last night, I really enjoy critical damage tables, some of them just end in obnoxious outbursts of laughter as people miserably fail various rolls...

I got my local game store to partcipate in running FFG RP games. Last I heard, they ran a game last week with 19 players. I imagine most of them will come and go, but figure at least half of them will probably stick around. That's a pretty good number of them!

19 players? Good Lord... I hope that wasn't in a single game. I've got 5 (plus me) and wouldn't dream of adding any more.

Combat must've taken a year.

Yup, it was a single game.

As far as I know, it took around 8 hours to make it through a single session. I wasn't there, but I imagine that they used mass combat rules to keep it fast.

Wow. That's some GM. Keeping track of 19 people, and everything you'd have to do yourself. That's quite a feat.

Some people have a real problem with D100 systems.

Don't ask me why. I've never had enough of a problem with a game system to stop playing it, or, at least, not enough of a problem that couldn't be solved by some house rules.

The other part I'll never understand when people say "I don't like the mechanics" is why they were playing the game in the first place? For the mechanics of the game? If I'm playing a 40K RPG it's because I want to play a 40K RPG. I don't decide I dislike the mechanics and go and play... Shadowrun. I tend to play the game because I like the setting... the mechanics are secondary.

Actually Looking at restarting a bit earlier then planned. I had little to no SL the last time we ran it was just a few sessions to get the mechanics nice and down... So I was wondering has anyone tried to run a DH or RT game Pre-Heresy?

As a total DH newb with a recently created Arbite proxy character I'd play if it wasn't for the fact no-one round here plays that I know of. If someone on dakka could start and GM some sort of online DH game I'd be extremely interested in joining. (as long as they are patient with me to start with as I have no experience of the game whatsoever apart from a slight grasp of the rules from attempting to memorise the rulebook a couple of times.)
