What would be the most efficient, but still eye pleasing, way to model IG Veteran squads. My inspiration is an urban warfare style IG army, so I need some ideas.

I use Kasrkin to represent my Grenadier vets. If you're planning on using standard Cadian/catachan models as a basis another really simple method is to pick up some after-market heads, pouches and/or weapons to load your guys up with. They are usually only a few pounds to upgrade a squad in that way and easy to fit.

The cheapest method, though, is to paint them in a different colour. Give them all gold helmets or something

Please excuse any spelling errors. I use a tablet frequently and software keyboards are a pain!

Mix them with the parts from their respective command squad kit. For my Catachans, I just gave every one of them backpacks from the heavy weapons crew kit. For my Cadians, I used the wounded, at ease, and respirator bits to great effect:

When I was planning my IG Army to be Cadian I bought bits from various different sites to make my Vets stand out. I went for the heavy weapons backpack and the CCS heads, just to look a little different. Things like this or a head swap for a Pig Iron head would work. Keep in mind that if you change your list in the future and take out the Vets you'll have to have different looking infantry squads, which is why they're being modelled the same with my Vostroyans.

Any tips on poses or cool stuff to add to give them an experienced urban warfighter feel??

I think it's worth going the bit extra for the FW Respirator Upgrade, you get loads of different parts, like holding Demo-Charges and ammo tins etc.

If you give the the Respirator Upgrade kit, also make sure you load as much kit onto them as they could possibly carry, like grenades and extra clips etc.

For my Vets I used a hodge-podge of old figs that were kicking around. Mostly ones from the old Last Chancers box. At least to me, it's important that all the Vets look different somehow. The Command boxes are treasure troves of bits. But ones from other lines might help, Mordhiem et al. If you've got bitz and whiskey, have a good night and see what happens. Works for me.

Definitely +1 for the respirator upgrade kit, really makes the models stand out plus you get an absolute truckload of other gubbins that you can use on just about anything.

Some people just model them so they're more roughed-up than the grunts, like they've spent the last few months in constant combat.

Headbands, ammo pouches, makeshift replacement armour, stubble and beardage, wounds, and general scruffyness all help show this.

I took the vox backpack, made some cuts to it. Basically turning it into a power plant. Then on the rifles, I cut off the laz gun clips and ran a wire from the laz to the backpack.
