Hey, I'm making a Green Tide list (Not for me), and I'm heading them with Nobz. Mine cost 480 total for 10. Is that normal? I know they are elites but that seems a like a lot of points.

Nobz x10-480
w/ Painboy
w/Power klaw x10

I can't remember for sure, but I don't think you can give the painboy a PK.

Put them in a trukk. Aside from that, I would use them as a 2nd wave, after the initial mobs of boyz have hit the enemy lines and weakened your enemy's forces.

Been out of the game for awhile, trying to find time to get back into it.

Alright, I'll prolly throw them with a Wierd boy, and put my Warboss with the Initial 'Ard Boyz attack.

Think I should throw in some grotz to harass and block?

NO. Just no. ...10 Power Klaws is an utter waste of points. You never need that many power klaws, nor is at an advantage to have that many. Many 10 man nob squads may be almost as expensive, but you don't take all Pks.

You only need 2-3 PKs, and it's also not needed to take a full 10 nobs. Even if you do, it is a must to kit them out with 100% unique wargear for each so you can abuse wound allocation.
There's a lot of different variations to do this but here is one.

-20 points each base.
Nob#1-Pk & slugga:+25
Nob#2-Pk, bp, & slugga: +30
Nob#3-PK, Shoota/skorcha: +30
Nob#4-Big Choppa & slugga: +5
Nob#5-Big Choppa, ammo runt & slugga: +8
Nob$6-Big Choppa, shoota/skorcha: +10
Nob#7-Waaagh! Banner, slugga & choppa: +15
Nob#8-Slugga & choppa: +0
Nob#9-Slugga & choppa, ammo runt: +3
Nob#10-Painboy: +30
+50 for all with the below.
-All with either cybork or 'eavy armour. Generally I'd say 'eavy armour if you are in a transport so you can choose your targets to avoid power weapons, or cybork if you're footslogging.
I often prefer cybork either way because I have a tendency to fail my vehicle cover saves and end up walking.

But, either way it's mostly a bad idea to take nobs in a green tide list. You're spending too many points on too few models, and the idea behind green tide is to overwhelm with bodies.

Take a KFF, 6 squads of 30 boyz and go from there. (or as many squads as you can depending on the points level.

You must understand that for an ork a day that starts off killing something with your bare hands, and ends with those same hands being chopped off in battle, is a good one.

What's betta than one choppa? Two choppas!!! Two choppas is one more than...is one times da...IS LOTS MORE FUN!! WAAAAGH!!!

It changed, that rule is gone unless listed in the codex (ie DH).

This is a decent setup. I personally would go with a 4/6 mix of PKs to BCs and no slugga/choppa Nobz, but that's just me.

Members of the Malleus still have yet to grasp the concept of holstering weaponry when not in use. They are a fickle group that are stubborn in the use of the old ways, long before straps and pockets.

I pretty much agree with most of what has been said already. I run 20 nobz 2 bw and 60 boyz behind a kan wall. The nobz run around and kill stuff and the boyz hold objectives and take fire....typically. This seems to work well for me.
I would say you should run ten nobz w/ a ic(I like the warboss so they can be troops), to make them fearless. This is good in case a trukk blows up or if you loose a combat but don't take any causalities (with can happen). Keep in mind though this is a 2000pt+ list. At 1500ish I don't take quite that many.

Waiting for my shill money from Spiral Arm Studios

its best to have Nobs in a ride of somesort. especially if they have Mega armor.

a full ten strong squad can run along side the boyz if you want.

Waaagh banners are definitly worth the pts.

3 diversified Nob squads can be sprinkled about and among da Ladz to lend Str where needed and they can take down enemies that the boyz can't handle(a rare occurence, but it is useful as a back up)

I think the PK spam on an already expensive unit is overkill TBH...

I field ten like this:

1/ waaagh banner
2 w/ PK
3 w/ big choppa
3 w/ slugga & choppa
1 painboy
(all w/ eavy armour)

That means five wounds before I lose a guy.

If I join my warboss to them six wounds

If Big Mek w/ KFF as well seven wounds

FNP/e. armour/forcefield means that getting those seven wounds can be a chore.

Regardless I throw them in a trukk which makes them a highly mobile threat, especially as part of a trukk rush under cover of KFF...
