Subject: Final liberation downloads?

Epic: final liberation is game very close to heart to me, as I played it when I was 5 years old, with predictable success(I remember panicing at the sight of the vortex missile blast and yelling for my dad to finish the battle for me). I would really like to have another go at it now, ready for all the fighta-bommas and vortex missiles the game can throw at me, but am afraid the free downloads on the web may contain viruses. Has anyone here successfully downloaded a safe version? If so, where? Could I make it work for a vista-running laptop? I heard there was a bug with the cutscenes and you had to add some little bit of code to make them run smoothly, is this true? Are there any other problems to note? Thanks in advance. edited because I can't spell.

I am not aware of any safe copy's floating around the web. But I am sure there are a download that is safe somewhere. BUT you can always look up Amazon, and as for the bug issues I have not heard anything about that

There are plenty of places you can get Final Lib from. I haven't got any specifics because I am at work, but IIRC I got my version from a website called 'Home of The Underdogs' that promotes old games (termed Abandonia). I haven't had any experience with viruses; the caveat being always make sure you have AV software and you scan downloads before installing. There is a small tweak to an .ini file to make the video cutscenes work but aside from that, it should work fine on new machines. I have had it working on Win 7. Alternatively, if you are low on time and bandwidth, there is a version without the video floating around.

No problems - just remember, if you have no joy finding it one website, try and try again. There are loads of abandonia sites out there. As always, Google is your friend. And don't forget torrents, as a last resort.
