hi yesterday i came up with the idea of making some kind of tanks and heroes based on artwork of video games such as Command and conquer or soulcalibur.
Is this idea stealing legal or i ll get into trouble???

There isnt any legal problems what so ever, until you start to sell them. On the small scale you wont have problems, but its illegal to sell them. So if its for personal use, its totally legal

TBH, ive been drawn to making a few characters from games recently.
Generally they are just a great source of ideas.

I see no problem with making a model from a game.

My current project: Arumat from Star ocean TLC.

Lots of folks do stuff like this. You're just "inspired" by a character, no problem unless you try to mass manufacture and sell it.

There was even a time when GW itself was fond of such cross-media creativity. I remember a White Dwarf article with a Slapshot-inspired Ork army, and I think an Army of Darkness one as well.

Those days are sadly long gone...
