Yea that's probably true. The rest of us would spend the rest of the game griping over how broken his forehead was.

You, on the other hand, might be mistaken for the God of Nails, and they would make you their king, welcoming you into their wooden realm.

Either situation is likely, especially if I have the game before the paint fumes properly vent.

We've been running 16 to 18 players at my shop for the two lucky 13 events so far. We set up as much 6' wide board as needed, plenty of space on the sides for deploying armies, and insist that all models by WYSIWYG, fully painted, and each player have an army list with them. Cuts down much confusion. No staring across the table and wondering what the hell the other guy is running. I don't worry too much about who is on which side. Mostly imperials over here, mostly xenos over there, and balance out the points. Strategems are one per player, but only if you actually own the apocalypse book. This avoids the "Ooh, I pick this, how does it work?".

Outside of the 'official' events, we get together at least once a month for late night events with a group of veterans where we theme the battle a bit and know more of what to expect.

But all the games have been insanely fun. Apoc really brought out a new aspect of the game.

....and lo!.....The Age of Sigmar came to an end when Saint Veetock and his hamster legions smote the false Sigmar and destroyed the bubbleverse and lead the true believers back to the Old World.

Step off Buddy.
Everyone else had a good time... Why cant you?
Bottom line you should not have been able to play period. So far you have showed Very poor sportsmanship and a bad attitude toward everyone you played against.. two things that I cannot stand. If you cant play in a mature manner then you should not play period. Try Chess.

Next time before you log onto Dakka and flame look yourself over in the mirror and ask yourself if its really worth it.

Did you have a change of heart?

I know you hang on every word I type.. and I'm flattered.. but I'm really not your type.

regardless... I've owned and sold more armies than you and any 4 of your closest friends combined. I'm also fairly certain that I still have more in the way of warhammer stuff than you and 2 of your closest friends combined.

In case you haven't noticed that whole "bad economy" thing we've got going on right now, you should check it out and think about why it's dumb to sell hobby stuff when people aren't spending that much on hobby stuff. Why sell stuff when you can't even be confident in getting 50% of retail for it?

So.. unfortunately.. you're stuck with me at least until the economy turns around. I'm working on painting stuff on my days off and I'll probably go about selling most of it at some of the conventions I go to in a year or two.

Plus that will give them time to get 5th edition out and fix everything... right?

Also, if you were there to have fun, why show up so late?

I showed up intending to try and have fun with this.

why show up late? I made a lunch date with a friend previously that I haven't seen in about 2 years. After specifically checking with the organizer who knew ahead of time that I intended on bringing 1500+ points in Warp Rift daemons and getting "that's fine we're gonna be cycling people in and out all day, you'll be reinforcements, the xeno side will probably need them by the time you get here."

And I specifically asked "are you sure?" in reference to the Warp Rifts at least 3 times the night before.

so.. fast forward to showing up and hearing at least one of the space marine players baring every 3 to 5 minutes about how unfair it was that the other side was getting "without number"... amongst other things. it became less than fun really quick...

and I always reserve the right to harangue someone for my own amusement when they act like the proverbial GW "Target Audience". It's an added bonus if I wind up one or more fanboys in the process.

If you don't like it, don't play that game at that location anymore.

Problem meet solution. I mean come on, marine players in a GW store whining is new to you?

It definitely sounds like Blackheart's attendance was a sorta-kinda 'event' for the game. Maybe if it had been presented as such, with the moderators hyping it up, it would have been better received.

Working on someting you'll either love or hate. Hopefully to be revealed by November.
Play the games that make you happy.

OK.

Tho I think that your rant really demonstrates why Apocalypse games need to be negotiated with all parties in advance. While the organizer didn't care, because he just wanted to have fun, obviously, the SM players did, and them not knowing what you were doing, that's the root of the problem.

No, no. I think that I know what the real problem is. It's Space Marines (hurr). Space Marine players simply can't be trusted to behave themselves in public. We've all seen it before, right?

I'm with Pariah.

That Marine player sounds like one of those whining idiots who sits there and corrects everyone on the rules but doesn't play any games himself, or, worse, the guy who corrects you every 10 seconds when you're playing him, but he's always wrong, and he just gets more and more gakky at you every time you point out that the nonsense spewing from his mouth is a load of garbage... especially when you're winning.

OK, no biggie.

FWIW, with Apocalypse removing the 0-1 restrictions, I'd have simply burned the "missing" points on a shedload of S10 AP1 Inquisitional Orbital Strikes and just blanketed every bit of cover more than 6" from our DZ...

At only 70 pts a pop, that's a metric ton of Death from Above that doesn't require models, but just keeps on going like an Energizer bunny. If they're down by 7000 pts, that means the non-SM could have bought 100 Orbital Strikes. .

Dear Blackheart666,

Maybe Iorek has a million armies. Maybe Iorek has a million friends with a million armies, and they've all sold at least one!

Iorek's a pretty nice guy. I wouldn't be surprised if he had so many friends that he had friends on other planets because they wouldn't all fit on Earth!

I bet you wish you had friends who were aliens too, don't you? But you don't, because you're not as nice a guy as Iorek. Go ahead and blame it on imaginary concepts like "bad economies" if you want, but maybe if you didn't drop three warp rifts in the last turn of an Apocalypse game you'd have more friends from space. Or at least more friends who play space marines.

From space.

Thanks,
-Hordini
