I see no reason why the Joker can't have fatalities.

Amidst the mists and coldest frosts he thrusts his fists against the posts and still insists he sees the ghosts.

Haha. It would be funny if they made Aquaman a really hard-to-use character who had an ultimate special move of 50 leaping dolphins obliterating the opponent.
And yeessss, Jack Nicholson's Joker. I'd better hear maniacal laughter whenever you play him, whether he wins or not. He seems to be the kind of guy who'd laugh even harder during a fatality.

So, I finally got my hands on it and I thought I tell you about it.
1. Yes, it is NOT as bloody or gory as the last MK games I played. There is blood and stuff, but the fatalities are not as extreme as in previous games. Sub-Zero for example picks a guy up, freezes him and shatters him by throwing him on the ground and Baraka just keeps stabbing people in the chest. The Heroes have "heroic brutalities" instead of fatalities. Batman, for example, throws a Baterang at his opponent which attracts bats who swarm you enemy. Joker's Fatality is totaly ace though. But only in the european version
2. The game mechanic is simple but solid. Klose Kombat, as well as Freefall Kobat make it a lot more cineastic and fun to watch. It's very simple for a beat 'em-up though. Most special moves are only a "2 directions, one face button" combination and for some reason, even Baraka has a ranged attack
3. The complete rooster consists of:
Batman - Sub-Zero
Superman - Raiden
Catwoman - Sonya Blade
The Flash - Scorpion
Green Lantern - Jax
Lex Luthor (in power armor) - Shang Tsung
Wonder Woman - Kitana
Deathstroke - Baraka
The Joker - Kano
Captain Marvel (aka Shazam) - Lui Kang
I really hope they expand this rooster trhough downloadable content, I would love to see Bane and Lobo in it. I think this is the first MK game without Jonny Cage.
I like beat 'em-ups. I like comics. This is a very solid fighter with comic characters. It's not exactly the Mortal Kombat it used to be, but it's fun.
Just one more thing. To get a Teen rating, Midway actually cut out a few Fatalities in the american version. Europe's fine though

He's not a spandex clad superhero. He's a spandex clad Space Cop, something they've been increasingly supporting in the newer books(more space PP, less Earth QQ, except for when the Sinestro Corps attacked Earth for being the center of the Multiverse).

I have to give Kudos to the writers, they really know how to pull off a good crossover.
"Why are you invading my world?"
"What? It is YOU who is invading my world."
"I am filled with unexplainable rage!"
"Let's fight."

If it was a movie script, that'd be Oscar material for sure!

Has anyone else played this? Thanks Anung, just looking for other opinions. IGN.com rated it fairly well in their year end wrap up. I'd be more of a fan if it was all DC characters, the MK guys just have a "been there, done that" stigma.

Yeah, I know what you mean. Since you can no longer switch fighting styles mid-battle the MK guys are a bit dull.

Green Lantern Vs. Anyone in MK is a joke.
Two things, the power level of DC is very high.
But as for Vs GL; I do think Raiden could do it, bear in mind that he is the God of Lightning and the character you see in MK is his weakened form so he could compete on even terms with the other contestants.

As I get it, the entire POINT of Mortal Kombat is that everyone is brought down to the same power level.
That's why Raiden gave up his godhood in Deadly Alliance to fight again in Mortal Kombat, and the whole "magic" of the universe is the reason why Kryptonians and Space Cops are all brought down to the same level.

Yeah that's what I gathered from the movies. That's how some meager humans gained the ability to throw fireballs to be on the same footing as archaic ninjas with hooks ejected from their hands.
