Apparently I'm ''European''. A little vague? I feel a bit like I'm living in George Orwell's 1984

I really should be spending my time more constructively.

I rather like the flags. It lets me know when some American is just spewing jibberish on purpose and not because he is foreign to english.

Once upon a time, I told myself it's better to be smart than lucky. Every day, the world proves me wrong a little more.

As for post quality as long as people read the guidelines and follow them I'm sure they'll be ok.
It may take them a while to adjust if they expect to be able to use "text speak" abbreviations.

I personally love the flags for all the reasons listed above. Product advice that's country specific, English being a first language etc.
Plus they add a bit of colour.

I like the flags.
Very helpful when someone is posting horrible spelling and you see thet they are from a place where english would not be their first language.

Actaully I think that type is pretty universal, its just named differently wherever you go.

Man, those flags really tied the room together. Did it not, Dude?

Oh yeah *stretches out hands across the world*

But seriously I do think they add a nice touch.
Yeah I gathered we all have those types, was just shocked to hear the word over the pond.

I looked for the setting quite a few times before giving up and blaming my IP. I don't really care though. I'm half ,"Get rid of the damn flags," and half "let me set my own".

Flags are here to stay.

But we are looking into ways of fixing the issue with the few people with incorrect flags.

At the moment, it will most likely be an mod-only setting to keep the flags more accurate across the site, and to reduce the scope for abuse. Either way though, it should indeed be available sometime in november and the actions you will need to take to change your flag will be noted in your profile settings at that time.

... really?

I thought he said he was going to go for a few bongs in November. That must have been me talking.

Nah... kidding. Originally I was just subtly commenting on the irrelevance of nationality over free media, but for the sake of the BSB 's everywhere I'll keep my vote with the flags, for the nice Warhammery lets-kill-everyone-that's-funny-lookin-and-repeats-mod-posts atmosphere.

I like the flags. It's rare to find other irish posters on here, and given how small the PP community is over here at the minute I like being able to see if anyone is interested.

Any chance of some historical flags, then we could put our FoW armies in our sigs. e.g.
While you're at it some Warmachine ones would be nice too.

We dont have much in house artistic talent or time, but if someone wants to make some (from scratch - not just shrinking other people's images), then we would be happy to add them.

Nice to now see that my flag isn't what is was, although it's now what it has always been, for as far as I can associate myself with it.

Flags are good. You know what else would be good? Posting people's IP addresses. And credit card numbers.

And if people are blowing smoke up your tailpipe, Kyoto-sama, that's what iggy's for!

Heck, I love your threads; I always end up 'ignoring' half the posters who decide to wander into 'dawghouse' territory instead of sticking to the subject. Makes for a much more meaningful Dakka experience
