One could counter with central truths about zombies being fiction and theres no way we'd ever really know for sure.
Yeah, I guess your dry humor passed right over us. But my goal of this post was to have as little to do with "certain central truths" and keep the topic as far fetched as possible. In fact the more far fetched the better. Im an OtT kinda guy with my humor.
For example:
Something like this makes me giggle like a school girl with a new puppy..

Ah, well, my bad then. I shall refrain from harshing the buzz.
Again: the nature of zombie souls is in no way an important central truth. the joke was that usually people would say something about Jesus as a central truth, and instead I talked about zombies.
I swear, I'm the Andy Kaufman of this thread tonight.

To be fair, Sam Kinison was a preacher before he did standup, so he'd totally have my back on the zombie thing.....
Anways, To make amends I'll point out that as a trained craftsman and crucifixion victim, the Iron Hands make a certain amount of sense. Iron In, Iron Out, Iron through the hands and feet.
I could see him rocking Space Wolves. A bunch of hairy men that roll together, drinking and smiting evil? Sounds like the apostles to me. Hey, I just realized that Leman Russ has a whole second coming christ thing going as well.....

And thats one reason I love Sam Kinison. He had the serious side, and he had the S,D & R&R side. Though I carry a torch for Bill Hicks.
As to your suggestion? Awesome.

Yeah, My Buddy Bill tends to go on a bit, hes flawed in that way I suppose...
As for mercutio, Ive always liked the name, and mercutio relates to mercury which is my ruling planet as I am gemini. And mercury relates to Hermes who is my favorite Greek God. And being a gemini, The Twins, and I live in the Twin Cities... It all falls together nicely.

Comparing Jesus to an undead being is like comparing Islam to Satanism, Osama Bin Laden to Nelson Mandela and the treatment of Palestinians to the Holocaust.
No matter how witty and clever you think you can be in making the comparisons you are likely to piss off a whole lot of people.
People should be tolerent, but some topics cross the line.

Ahtman, It isnt necessarily the case that someone who doesnt want to offend hates freedom. I'm not seeing the connection at all there actually.
I often say that, concerning freedom, just because you can, doesn't mean you should.
Also, we're making a tacit assumption that freedom has a universally held definition and that more freedom is inherently desireable.

No, not at all obvious. I'm not saying I disagree necessarily, but it isnt something that you should accept without question.
Or look at it this way, living in an absolute monarchy, one might say that living under the leadership of a strong, divinely appointed ruler is of course better, isnt that obvious.

I misjudged. Oblivious might have been more appropriate. The comments were so far ott (do I really think he hates freedom? nah) that it wouldn't be taken seriously. Don't worry though, you have arrived to find humor, and beat it to death.

Well, that was kind of the obvious part. Freedom means different things to different people? The lessons of 7th grade Social Studies are as profound as they are dull.

Nice to know that multitudinous people can say things, in full earnestness, that offend me deeply, on a board I used to enjoy a lot, and I have to swallow it and let them go, but I can't make a joke in a silly thread without getting smacked down for it. Bravo. It's interesting how the agnostic turns the other cheek better than the Christian.

As a rule of thumb, the designers do not hide "easter eggs" in the rules. If clever reading is required to unlock some sort of hidden option, then it is most likely the result of wishful thinking.

Wow, I go to work and this thread not only leaves the track, but dumps oil on the old tracks, and burns them while cackling madly...
Now to address a few issues...
Orlanth wrote:Comparing Jesus to an undead being is like comparing Islam to Satanism, Osama Bin Laden to Nelson Mandela and the treatment of Palestinians to the Holocaust.
No matter how witty and clever you think you can be in making the comparisons you are likely to piss off a whole lot of people.
People should be tolerent, but some topics cross the line.
First off, I think you are being a bit extreme. Zombie Jesus is totally tounge in cheek and means no harm. I think you are taking it too seriously. And if you disagree.... Well to quote my Buddy Bill..
"I was over in Australia during Easter. It was interesting to note they celebrate Easter the same way we do; commemorating the death and resurrection of Jesus by telling our children a giant bunny rabbit left chocolate eggs in the night... Why not 'Goldfish left Lincoln Logs in your sock drawer'? As long as we're making up, go hog wild. At least a goldfish with a Lincoln Log on its back crawling across your floor to your sock drawer has a miraculous connotation to it! 'Mummy, I woke up today and there was a Lincoln Log in me sock drawer!' 'Thats the story of Jesus!'"
Zombie Jesus is offensive but Easter Bunny is A-Ok. Fine. And if you are still angry, as a Christian you are angry... Then forgive us.
As to Ahtman, his reaction, I saw as sarcasm, if a bit taunting and... ahem.. mean. A little more reaction than I would have done but whatever. I didnt see it as anything serious for a moment. The very line "Why do you hate Freedom?" is very ott. I actually kinda giggle hearing it.
After that..... It was all down hill... And not a good downhill where at least its an amusing ride.. but a bad bumpy downhill that leaves your rear hurting and you think you may have hurt your neck but arent too sure... Not a good time...

The Easter Bunny thing isn't made up whole cloth, it is a mish mash of previous traditions co-opted to smoothen the conversion process. It is a little more complicated than that, but the point is that it wasn't made up whole cloth, just like Halloween wasn't originally about bad plastic masks and snack sized Snickers.

Oh, Im aware about Easter and Ostara and Halloween and Samhain and all... but the Easter Bunny is ludicrous as a concept to represent something that is supposed to be The Ultimate and blah blah blah... HOwever its accepted without a second though. Yet Zombie Jesus is offensive?
That was more my point..

I don't see it as massivley offensive, although things have gone a little off topic since then I have to agree, any chance we can all go back to the original post, about what he'd play, not the theory of offense?
