Righto, got some painting done today!

Most weathering is done, now I´m thinking about whether or not to do combat damage as well...
A few bullet holes, that sorta thing...

Also, the pilot is coming along nicely, hopefully I´ll have pics of him up tomorrow or tuesday at the latest.

More gear and stuff will of course be heaped upon this poor beast, it is a transport vehicle after all.

Front view. The pressure tanks under the wing still need a little work.

Closeup of the cockpit, It should be visible here that I´ve used sentinel seats.

This is soooo cool... I've got some badly assembled speeders that I inherited from a friend who gave up a few years back... I feel they may be getting dusted of and salvaged

Did you airbrush the camo? I'm really liking it... thinking I might have to dig my airbrush out too!!!

Thanks for the kind words, good to know that I´m on the right track.

Funkmaster: That´s precisely the combo I´m aiming for.

Nuclear Mekanik: Yep, the camo is airbrushed. I recently bought one, and felt that it was time to put it to use on actual models.

I´ve been testing on cardboard and such things, to get the technique down...

Alrighty then!

Got transfers done today, and I think they came out okay. I managed to keep the PDF, non front line look I think.

As is obvious from the pics, the speeder is Necromundan, it is PDF (still need to find a good way to show that, and it´s old.

Xanthos, Awesome work indeed but...
I keep looking at it saying to myself.. great job.. but something kept nagging at me.. and I finaly figured it out. The more I think about it, the top wings that portrude from the roof detract from the sleek appearance of a fast scout ship.

They seem out of place...or perhaps to wide at the ends unlike the lower wings how they taper some what.

anyhow.. its only my opinion and over all i still give the work a 10 of 10.

good job!

Fantastic work, I think those upper wings might be a tad oversized, but considering this is a custom job and not really fitting in with the Space Marines, it looks terrific.

Great work all around. Love the paint scheme. Wish I had something more productive to say, but it seems you know what you are doing with your conversion.

This is simply beautiful. And the 'life-like' colour scheme makes it look even better.
This just begs for a display diorama, if you ask me.

Now if only I could get my friends along for a Necromunda campaign of our own...

Okay, I´ve finished this speeder of mine. Or at least I feel I am done with it for now.

Thank you all for the comments, both good and bad. They are what allows me to see the outside perspective.

AtraAngelis/YojimboJones: I agree that the wings are not as sleek as the original ones, but I was sort of attempting to get away from the assault craft aspect, and onto more of a transport chopper thing.

Thank you for the kind words.

Agandhjin: If you want people to play Necromunda, just direct them to Migsula´s Jade Vessel blog, that did the trick for my group...

Everyone else who commented, thank you for the praise, this project has really carried itself, I pretty much just had a good feeling from the beginning.

On to what´s been done:

I finished the Pilot, gave him muted clothes but a semi-flashy helmet, since I figure that might still be "the thing" for pilots in 40K..

The stubber is just a FW DKOK spare that I had, mounted on a chimera gun mount, and painted to match the speeder.

For the base, I decided to go with a rusted plating look, I figure since this thing will primarily be used for necromunda style cityfight games, it kinda fits the style.

Also, that gave me the opportunity to paint rust, which is something I´ve been meaning to learn.

It´s hard to find good tutorials that don´t use weird chemicals/expensive gear, but I found one that had some hints, and went with it.

Please let me know what you guys think about that.
[Thumb - Base 1 Marked.jpg]
The base. As you can see, it´s rusted plating.

Another angle. Comments?

The Pilot. He´s regular merc stuff, Ex-Navy.

[Thumb - Finished Stubber Marked.jpg]
The heavy stubber. Really need a HMG to finish the chopper look.

And a full view of the Speeder. Yay, project complete!

thats what a landspeeder should be, not a bright blue shoe box barely off the ground.
