In contrast to other Iron Warrior armies I've seen, I like how your yellow is more faded and worn looking that the vibrant yellow that gets done far too often.

Nice work.

I'm not keen on that bright yellow. If the battle armour is like 10,000 years old its not going to look so good and be faded.

I realise it's probably too late but you can find them on the Games Workshop website under Chaos Space Marines Bitz.

Looking really good by the way.

Predator basic paint job nothing fancy. Yes I know you are not meant to wash vehicles but it looks good on boltgun metal and goes with the dirty theme I'm going for.

Also on another note the missus has based what has painted with some brown basing, looks good. Will get pics up soon.

What are you talking about? Of course you should wash the vehicles, the large flat areas just mean that you have to be more careful with the color choice and how much wash you apply to avoid pooling. The washes have become to the mini painting from scale model builders who use them extensively to weather the models.

And the subject of the post is looking good, the brass could use some additional highlights, but otherwise there is nothing sticking to the eye.

Ah right. Someone told me once not to wash vehicles. I thought it was odd as part the army would look dark and the vehicles wouldn't. Though do have to take it easy or get brush marks.

Thanks for the comments.

You should finish the bases and trim the black/yellow line edges, it could be straighter.

Nuclear: Properly pronounced new-clear, not new-cue-lir. There is no 'u' between the c and l, so stop saying it because it just makes you sound like a dumbass. This includes nucleolus, and all other derivatives of the word.

Errr...I just have

Aye the yellow lines could be straighter, I've got a plan for that on larger models . Bases have been done on painted models with a light brown model railway basing kit. I will get pics up as it goes really well with the dark metal colour armour.

They have no marks of chaos as Iron Warriors are undivided

I'm a big fan of the darker look. I'd possibly like to see a lighter base though to really make the models stand out. Great work!

Finished half of another squad I started last week last night. This is the flamer squad and I have done a mild conversion by cutting the end off the flamers and adding the daemon heads which are meant to go on the heavy bolters of a predator. I think they look cool. I need to do the rhino for this squad (which I will do tonight) and I will have two troops left and the two defilers to make 1,500 points

On another note I have now got a vindicator line breaker squadron for the Iron Warriors

Cheers fella.

Done another Rhino so two full squads inc rhinos. Got another two troop units to do along with two defilers and 1,500 points is done. Then a unit of terminators and 2,000 points done.

On another note I have found some spare chaos marines and going to convert a squad into havocs with three heavy bolters and one auto cannon for anti infantry support. I've got another 8 which I will convert into berzerkers

If I knew, I'd tell you.

You should make an awesome Chaos Lord conversion. Get your hands on a techmarine,"Chaosify" it and give him a big old powerfist. Go on, you know you want to.

lol I prefer the normal chaos lord acutally. warsmiths in the books at least and just powerful lords, other iron warriors tend to have servo arms etc. though I wouldn't give a model which mostly strikes first a weapon which strikes last.

I wasn't suggesting use the servo arm, I mean you could if you wanted to but they are a bit of a pain to glue on. The techmarine just looks cool.
