SoCal, USA!

Dark Future? Ugh. Better to have played Car Wars instead.

Generally, they;re all good - I like Necromunda, and of course you can't beat a good game of BLOOD BOWL for a laugh...

Wish I'd had the chance to play Man'o'War...

40K + WFB are the weakest in GW's rules sets by a long way. 40K is a wierd arcade game with minis and WFB really has some very strange mechanics, but they are collector's or miniature games rather than wargames and the rules reflect that.

GW have designed soem great mini rules-sets. Epic: Armageddon and Warmaster are two excellent quick-play (by which I mean less than 2 hours for a game) wargame systems. LOTR is a good skirmish system. Bloodbowl is a fantastic game system. Sadly I never played ManoWar so can't comment.

Man'O'War was curiously satisfying.

The Magic was good, as the best spells affected the Winds and Seas, rather than blasting your opponent to smithereens, and the combat rules couldn't have been simpler (Work out range. Close, -1 to enemy save, long, +1 to enemy save, roll dice equal to cannons firing, compare your roll to enemy ship chart to see if and where you hit. Opponent rolls saves, takes a point of relevant damage for each failed).

I've heard almost blanket praise for Man O'War. Unfortunately, they were busy transmogrifying the dark impagery of WFRP into the cartoon-like WFB 4th edition when Man O'War arrived, and I wanted no part of that.

The local club was discussing using it as a basis for a quickplay 'high seas' game recently. Given how fondly the game is collectively remembered, I'm surprised I haven't seen something already done on these lines.

Am in two minds about selling my stuff off now :(

Absolutely loved that game, and never, ever lost one. Even rammed a Black Ark to the depths using basic Wargalleys once! Awesome fun.

Certainly I'd be disinclined to sell something I'd have no confidence of getting back without paying through the nose.. It's something I've regretted in the past.
