Any comments or thoughts from you Orlanth on the idea I illustrated above?

it sounds good but: My only storage space for 2'x2' items is needed for other things. I simply cannot spare that space.

I could of course use 18"x18" squares though.

Tiles however need a frame, as thr foldable bae you mention will not be easily stored either.

However I have thought of using tiles mounted on a frame that is hung on my wall. Back to that idea again, just with modular terrain included.

This has the advatage that the wall mount could be thinner, much thinner, as it would not contain any terrain base, just the frame.

Neither is big enough for Apoc Games.

The 8X4 is long enough, but not wide enough. Playing short-end to short-end feels like you're playing on a very thin strip of land, and playing long-edge to long-edge just doesn't leave enough in between.

8X6 is what you want for an Apoc board. Or, better yet, an 8X4 and then two separate boards that are 4X2 each that you can tack onto the ends, or use as a separate 4X4 board for much smaller games.

Largest I've played on was 12.5X6. That was too big as it was very difficult to reach into the centre.

Ojk. Now my armies are a fraction of those you showed us. For me apocaypse means my 1500pt 40k army, an extra detachment of a further 1500pts (usually another 'list'). and one or two super heavies. I even intend to keep the Force Org rules and just add the legendary units to this.

its a no wase Apocalypse ready collection.

Now, under those circumstances do you still think 6x6 is too small?

Ok, well, Apoc for is is a 4 player game with 12-15000 points per player, so I guess we have different needs.

Didn't someone make a wargames table as a piece of modern art? Am I remembering a Dakka thread or a TMP thread?

I'm writing a load of fiction. My latest story starts here... This is the index of all the stories...

We're not very big on official rules. Rules lead to people looking for loopholes. What's here is about it.
