I think it looks great, and if it's anything like the Trukk kit, there will be a dozen different ways you can put it together (my friend has 6, and each one is differnt - one looks like the skeleton of a trukk, another looks like an Orky WWII beach landing craft - all from the same kit with no additions!!!).

its a nice model, it just screams of some of the oil tanker/landtrains of some of the apocalyptic movies to date like Land of the Dead, Mad Max etc, still a nice model though i think once thats released my other armies will be put on hold whilst i get an ork, if just to include some of those, shame really, i would love to rebuild my tau army i did love them so much

Victorian Sci-fi tacular. Might have to have it modified to serve the Queen's (Gawd Luv 'er) Own 34th Pellucidar Expedition Force.

Or, you know, chop it up for fun with trukks and wagons!

Hmmm... definitely not what I was expecting... I was thinking of something big and fat and wide, like a tall tank sized thing, just because of all the kitbashed/scratched ones I've seen.

I can see what they were going for, that looks a lot faster than what I was imagining... much more Mad Max... I'm still not sure I like it though... and it'll look silly with a DethRolla on it...

I might buy one or two but I doubt if they'll look like that

All I have to say is:

BITS FOR THE BITS GAWD!!!

Sweet tap-dancing christ, I. Can't. Wait. I'll be buying as many as I can carry home. Not necessarily for the battlewagon in and of itself, but I will definitely cannibalize several. Look at all those delicious bits and pieces! I see some massive conversions ahead. Man, I haven't been this excited about new releases since Brian Nelson orks first dropped.

I will probably just get one I think, and mix with Russ etc. I like the tracks.

Not too fussed about the warseer pics with every bit strapped on.

Looking at it again... it's got so many huge optional bits. From the looks of things the entire top plate is optional, along with the front 'teef' plate, and with any luck so will the cab's roof. That's a lot of big plastic plates that will work wondes with, say, CoD buildings to make Orky buildings, or just in general to make Orky 'things'.

You could probably combine with with the bike kit to make a series of unique Buggie/Trakks. Hell, that was probably GW's idea when they made these ie. they're not strictly modular kits, but they do tend to go together well with only a little effort.

I really, really like that. Unmistakeably Orky, and yet far more solid looking than the Trukk. For a plastic kit, it seems to radiate it's bulk quite nicely.

Oh well. Looks like I'll be going green in the least environmentally friendly sense of the phrase.

Imagine how many Orks would just die every battle if you had a flying battlewagon? :S

just my opinion but...

I just don't get people pushing un-Orky technology onto the Orks and calling it "looted"... Orks would never bother making things like mono-wheel trucks, monocycle warbikes or any kind of anti-grav technology try and work, too many Orks would end up dead... Just imagine your monowheel or entirely anti-grav trukk or battlewagon speeding across the battlefield towards your foe... and one of the antigrav pads goes wrong. Suddenly your terrifying hurtling mass of metal and greenskins becomes a hilarious fireball of cartwheeling contraptions and flailing greenskins preparing to use their face to break their fall, whilst "doing the burny dance"

It's just not going to work. Any Mek who came up with one or more of these contraptions which inevitably and spectacularly failed at the wrong time would get killed by his boss or boyz.

Meks build Trukks, tanks, bikes, trakks etc. Occasionally they might build a kind of conventional aeroplane, or maybe even a helicopter, but they're going to be few and far between, and probably hideously unreliable.

Just stick to the fluff... I saw a "looted" carnifex the other day, with an Ork riding it. I mean, wtf?

Yeah screw being creative.

As to the kit itself: I like it, depending on how many optional bits come with it and how big it is compared to a trukk. I think it will make a good starting point but I wouldn't use it as is straight from the box.

I sometimes wonder if they know there are enough good converters out there that could make up bunches of their own with official pictures and enough lead time. With the converters making up vehicles that look like the GW releases and giving online tips how to make them, it could cut into sales.
Being mostly impatient gamers, without prerelease pictures, would then buy the kits when GW put them out, not wanting to take the time to make their own since it's faster to put together a model then create something from scratch.

It sounds silly, I know, but this could be the start of a brainstorming session why pictures aren't released.

I like it in all respects. its cool looking and im sure it has a BOAT load of bits that come with it. but i dunno... ive seen and been inspired by some scratch built battlewagons that look much cooler. still tho depends on the cost.
anyone know what this puppy should cost about????

UH Gyrostabalized mono wheel any one? This was a very real ork upgrade/option. Its a mad doc invention and very orky and fluffy so you lose on that one, and have you not read Deff skawdorn? Those guy test out their wing cannons on other boys who are weedy enough to try to parachute from a blown up plane! Orks give a damn about other orks dying as long as they get to get stuck in, its all good.

The killy aspects of a flying airship far out weigh any possible bad things that may or probably will happen to it.

I am gonna have to pull your green skin card after reading that, you need to go back to Orks 101 and start again.

Cry Havoc and let slip the dogs of war!

Front armor angle on this vehicle model is really small. That makes battlewagons a lot easier to deal with as you can just sidestep 6" and go for the armor 12 instead.

Also looks big enough to hold about 7 orks, as opposed to 20.

So my overall opinion is meh. It's a neat model, but it doesn't seem very battle-wagon-ee to me.

Very cool! Hm, sorta reminds me of ol' Rogue Trader Ork vehicles: Less of a looted look and more of a "consistent" military-ish feel.

Heh. Turns out I was right about the pics at BLoS being taken down:

BLoS's BrassScorpian wrote:Sorry. Turns out the model made it out to the store area yesterday from the offices by mistake. I learned today it was supposed to stay behind the scenes till at least Oct. 19. Once the error was discovered yesterday, the model was removed from display. As a courtesy at the request of friends at GW, I removed the pics till the model is officially displayed again. Thanks for your understanding.

AHH! Conspiracy! AHHH!!!

Anyway, as mentioned above, they're still up at Warseer, so no loss... other than you have to go to Warseer to see 'em.

I really dig the model. The only thing I've not seen is the Deff Rolla. I really hope this piece of wargear comes in the kit.

No earth shattering, thought provoking quote. I'm just someone who was introduced to 40K in the late 80's and it's become a lifelong hobby.
