A buddy of mine wrote for them. He's written other, serious, books and won awards and wrote one for them on a lark. He sent in his first draft...

And they printed it.

No one does this. No one. You don't do this for Steven King or JK Rowling.

But BL knows they can get X thousand sales for every title regardless of quality so they just chrun them out month after month.

I noticed that half the time their newsletters don't even list who wrote the books because they're counting on the magic of the Warhammer name to sell and hoping we don't diferentiate among writers.

The Dawn of War book is one of the better books out there! CS Goto has taken creative liberties to the 40k universe and I personally enjoyed reading that book.

I, personally, love how landraiders can transform into razorbacks, then transform back into landraiders. Imagine the possibilities! I hope he writes more books and takes creative license to make the Necrons ally with Tyranids, or Chaos Space Marines ally themselves with Eldar, OR BETTER YET, the Tau Empire join the Imperium of Man becoming the Imperial / Tau Combine!

I'm gonna compare BL books to a Macdonalds Happy meal, you know you've eaten something, hell you spent the time chewing it, but after all the Ketchup, saliva and exertion of swallowing, you still feel somehow unsatisfied!

Having read some truely (IMHO) books from "serious" Sci Fi writers, I get the feeling that BL writers are either beginners in the field or writers who couldn't make it anywhere else. I mean, how bad are things when your top novelists only claim to fame is comic books!!

The situation could really change if they invested in a few great titles, rather then churn out many pieces of drivel, but could this be another facet of GW overal marketing scheme, get as much product out there irrespective of quality....me thinks it is!

I just hope CS goto never EVER touches any xeno race with his next book... otherwise i will kill him "twice if he touches the tau"
