I suspect the IoM will be saved once the Emperor dies, I liked the ancient fluff about the star child forming in the warp, that humanity was making it's own god in the warp and that the Emperor had got that planned all along, when he passes, he would finally complete the joining with the nascent god and humanity would truly have a GOD Emperor.

Once that happens, Tyranids, Necrons and Chaos are going to be beaten around the galaxy like it's the new fashion.

I don't think GW aren't going to kill the Emp, the mention that there are failings in the Golden Throne are the first updated major canon they've made in 20ish years of 40K.

The Imperium will experience a rapture prior to the return of the Emperor there has been evidence of Living Saints and each and every one of them have said the Emperor will return during humanities darkest hour.

I believe that this will come in the form of the C'Tan they will destroy the chaos gods through manipulation and subtifuge i.e stealing their followers without the worship they will die.

The Dragon will awaken on Mars and the Adeptus Mechanicus will abandon their agreement will Earth and will become one vast Tomb World/Forgeworld where the Human followers of the C'Tan and the Necrons will mass for a final assault on Earth.

In this Time many heroes will be born and many others will die many thought lost will return i.e Jughati Kahn and Leman Russ and one of the Emperors finest will be named the living reincarnation of the god Emperor himself.

Actually, since there have been sveral irrepairable faults found in the Golden Throne in the past while, eventually the Throne will just give out, the Emperor will truly die, and the Warp will be inaccessable for travel. This will result in every Space Marine/Imperial Guard being stranded and the Enemies of the Imperium will annihilate each planet one by one as the Imperial Forces won't be able to reach each other. The other races aren't restricted to the Golden Throne to follow the Warp (from what I can tell) and can take us out at their lesure. This is really annoying though, the Imperium, specificall the Blood Angels are my fav armies (for now, I'm easily swayed), and although I know this will never actuallly happen in game-terms, as it would result in the end of 40K and/or GW, I hate knowing that bad things will inevitably happen.

Well, of course there wil never truly be any resolution that wipes out ANY race once and for all. Even Squats didn't get wiped out - they just faded away, ready to return to the fluff whenever someone fancies.

That said, remember that Mankind != Imperium

Wiping out the centralised Imperium is significantly easier than wiping out humanity. The absolute limit of feasibility is that in GW fluff the Emperor dies and humanity splinters (they'll find a fluff way for humans to do at least SOME warp travel, even if 200 years of non-warp-travelling-humans fluff passes in the blink of an eye). Astartes may or may not stay united, but it would be impossible to keep the IG unified and other human factions would arise. But even that is further than I think GW would go. PROBABLY the Emperor will die at some point in GW's future, but a maximum of 1 real-life year would pass before humanity finds a saviour.

As for the Tau - One large-scale Waaagh = No more Tau.
