I've finished my Terminator Chaplain now

Pretty satisfied with the outcome. I have highlighted the black, but with really dark grey, so it doesn't show too well, but i think it gives a nice black feeling, too light grey and he appears too light imo.

On the last picture you can see his major flaws tho ;( Shouldn't get that close with the camera ;(

I decided to convert 9 tactical marines to a squad of sternguard.

I have to web order exclusive sergeant that fits perfectly into the roll as a sternguard sergeant.

All the converting went fine, ended up with 2 combi-flamers, 2 combi-meltas. Changed the clip on all the boltguns and added some bling bling to make them look like proper veterans.
However!
I've run into a problem. Its called WHITE ;P I have no idea how to paint white properly. Did a test paint on one of the sternguard, the white on the shoulderpads and other locations looked decent. But the damned helmet looks just too chunky. Tried adding water into the paint, but still it looks waay to chunky.

So any advice on how to paint white helmets would be greatly appreciated!

very nice there. i would reccomend for any bone:

bleached bone
gryphonne sepia
bleached bone on raised area's
then work up a highlight using more and more skull white each time

On the Terminator Chaplain i did

Bleached Bone
Gryphonne Sepia
Bleach Bone on raised areas.

So you reckon the sternguard veteran skull white helmets would be done in the same way? Except adding layers of white on it?

The camo cloaks are neat. What colours were used?

Basecoat : Scorched Brown

Then i used a strippling brush with :

1st color : Codex Gray
2nd color : Graveyard Earth
3rd color : Goblin Green

Basically I just tried different combinations of colors I had, and redid it a few times until I got that result which I'm pretty satisfied with.

It's a good colour. Reminds me of the Danish M84 scheme.

...and now I know what everyone is talking about when they mention the old Blood Angel Chaplain.. Nice GS work on him.

The Captain with the storm shield looks fine from the outside, but the inside looks wierd. I say use a chainsword had with the sword cut off and a wee bit of greenstuff to make it look like a proper grip

Nice painting on the army

Really looking forward to seeing your Sternguard, I'm interested to see how you did the combi-flamers

With regards to painting white I'm trying a Darksun base and Highlighting with Bleached Bone throught to Skull White, either washing with black or sepia.

That's one way to get a 3+ inv save ^_-. Carry around a rhino door!

I agree the inside of the shield could use some work. It might just be the angle of the hand that's messing up the look. I'd say either re-angle the hand or shield to line things up a bit better.

Yeah I'm going to work more on that 'rhino door captain'. Thats just the first version, I'll finish him of later sometime ;P

Took some pictures of the old Blood Angel Chaplain.

I keep using him as my own armies 'count as' vulkan he'stan. And sometimes as a librarian. (Yes I'd rather not count as, but when my friends keeps using an entire armless 'nid army, normal nobs as mega armoured nobs, armless necron warriors as immortals.... *sigh* then imo i can count as ONE unit ;P)

Just finished Sergeant Telion to join the scout squad.

The camo suit "in-progress" idea came from Sirath's Tau painting blog. (http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/390/220201.page#971372)

Hehe, Yeah I was thinking about the same when i began working on him. But imagine only seeing his pants, rest beeing camo'ed I think it works out better this way.

Alright, so I wanted to create a small and basic diorama (its my first! ;P). I wanted to incorporate my Assault Terminators in it, as I think they look mean

But the "not-so-dynamic" pose of them left much to desire, so instead of having a "bLARGH LETS CHARGE YOU 'TILL YOU DIE" diorama, I went with the more subtle & defensive approach. The new add on coming soon to DoW2 made me think of The Last Stand, which is basically what this is based on.

Please note that this diorama is WIP and I haven't done any highlights on the models yet, which i will do when I have more of my army painted.

Alright, enough with the background... Heres what I've made

Okay, so I really need to get my army painted to a tabletop standard, fast I doubt I'll do proper highlighting on most of them. As long as everything else is done I'm satisfied. I'll do highlights later when everything is table top ready.

So I've decided to make a list here on what to paint and then update with pictures as I paint them. All units have already been primed black and blue areas painted.

To Paint:

2,5 Predators
3 Landspeeders
1,5 Drop Pods
1 Assault Marine
15 Terminators
4 Honour Guards
1 Marneus Calgar
14 Tactical Marines
9 Sternguard
2 Dreadnoughts
