That is a RL Vulcan Cannon.



That is it mounted on an A-10 (its the little chin mounted gun). Gun look small but the entire plane had to be designed around it as it is so god-damned powerful.

Same idea with the stormlord. You are mounting a Titan class weapon on a tank, so the normal long arm and ammo storage is internal in the tank, so the guns might look a little small for what they actually are, and do.

I've guessed they change the rear section too,seems i was wrong.
As the apoc reloaded datasheet has the front HB and the HS on the pic but not in the rules,
we should get the FULL equipment in WD march 09.

Yeah, I noticed that too. Hull-mounted Heavy Bolters in the front and also two Heavy Stubbers in the rear-compartment none of which are actually in the IA:Reload rules.

Hopefully the WD release in march will correct this oversight!

So should I call GW and ask them for a royalty check since I made this Stormlord tank like 8 months ago. Check out this tread from June of my step by step build of this beast.

Lol, GW is awesome. I slave over the model months before the first one comes out, and they don't even change the color. When was the last time GW painted their tanks desert. Don't they always do them in the Cadian Imperial Camo.

I'm getting like 3 of them to play in Apoc. I would of built more for myself, but they were a B%#*& to make. Take it from me since I've been playing mine for months now. It freakin rocks.

Shoots like crazy, and carries my OGRYN deep into enemy lines. This thing was an instant Apoc god the first day I played it.

Jeez, I really don't like the Stormlord. The Shadowsword is about as it should be. The stormlord is just meh.

Very impressive conversion work, Sgt. Diablo. I'm no huge fan of the design on the model, but your execution of it is really good.

So, what about those other tanks that were rumored to be available with this new kit? Is it really just the stormlord and shadowsword or will it still be able to do all those others? Or will there be a 3rd box that will have the other variants?

The stormlord tank look's pretty nice I think, I buy one when they come out.
and paint it in a catachan colour, whit some jungle plants and foliage.

Okay, so basicly the kit can make three decent-looking superheavies, and three rather bad looking ones. The Doomhammer, Banehammer and Banesword both look like someone just tried way too hard to make a new variant using the pieces in the box.

I think I'd've paid £10 extra just to get the Stormblade in lieu of these three new variants.

I love the Stormlord. Will be painted in Space Wolf colors, because the IG are LAME. That is a man's gun, and it needs men to fire it.

I like the stormlord a lot too. I'll be adding one to my army. Maybe I'll even be nerdy & rich enough to have 1 for each platoon I do hope they update the datasheet in WD though to allow for heavy bolters instead of flamers, that would be nice.

that's cool that the other stuff is included. I may also try to magnetize mine so I can have a couple different tanks out of the 1 chassis if that will be possible.

What model has a bad case of cannon envy? Seriously what is with that small main gun?

Nice find, Brook. So apparently the only difference between the shadowsword and the banesword...is the little lasery bit on the end of the barrel. Lame.

Yeah, using that little bit at the end of the barrel to differentiate between variants is... weak. I was hoping for a variant with the VMB in the back (ie. Stormlord without transport capacity)

Upon closer inspection, the gun parts are the following:

Base, barrel, laserbit, stormsword bit, stormlord parts.

These are used in various combos thusly:

Banehammer: Base
Banesword: Base + Barrel
Doomhammer: Base + Laserbit
Shadowsword: Base + Barrel + Laserbit
Stormlord: Stormlord parts
Stormsword: Base, Stormsword bit

So really, the kit is for 2-3 tanks, with rules for three more. Still, it's a fairly awesome kit.

Well, the Stormlord will require a new datasheet, seeing as how the current one found in Reload seems to fail to mention the hull-mounted heavy bolters and the two heavy stubbers on the fighting platform. Oddly enough the CAD drawing does show the stubbers and heavy bolters.

And the stormlord is awesome x 10.

Obviously they don't need an engine as to fire the 30 shots you have to hold still! On the move in "only" gets 15 str6 ap3 shots. So all smart commanders said forget it and instead made room for lots of expendable and easily replaced men.

Like the flinstones, the 40 guys in the back have slots cut out for their feet and they all run really fast to make it move!

the storm lord is the greatest anti infantry tank around!! the vulcan mega bolter can obliterate anything even light vehicles & fast attack. not 2 mentio the fact that it can transport 30 and up to 20 can fire in 1 turn that is holy.

p.s. can chaos use stubbers
