that is also a good suggestion, i played my friend with orks in a 750 battle the other day, i used my 5 immortals and they managed to hold off a unit of 10 boyz and a nob for around 1-2 turns, toughness 5 does give them a substancial bonus

Death will come at the hands of the ancients, those who determined our fate aeons before we stood erect upon the holy ground of terra and gazed up into the starry night.

Well, your just lucky I guess, cause people usually take either a big choppa or power claw knob.

i think he had a power klaw n i was lucky i gess, but i meant that immortals are pretty resilient to the boyz

Feasting on the souls of unworthy opponents

Budda, you can make any necrons resilient to boyz with the addition of a lord with a rez orb. =) Immortals are expensive point wise, and in terms of actual monetary cost, they're ridiculously expenisve. Horrendously expensive.

You can convert warriors into immortals pretty easily, but honestly - as someone who's had this Ork - Necron battle many times, I think you really should just use the squad of immortal necron warriors: Invulnerable to instant death, two WBBs, a power weapon in there, and leaving close combat every turn.

I think that your army list is fine, it's how you use them that counts. The teleport ability of the monolith plus the Veil of Darkness lets you hold back your warrior until later in the game after the destroyers and the monolith's particle whip have softened up the trucks and boys.

The monolith is your mobile fortress. The only thing that can hurt it are the nobs' power claws. Those must be your first priority. With the threat to the monolith eliminated, it is then unstoppable, move it forward, in front of or next to the warriors, to sheild/protect them. Keep the two units of warriors close, one in front of the other, with the lord in between. If the first unit gets charged, the second unit is safe(your enemy cannot move/charge through close-combat). The next turn, you can use the lord's veil or the monoliths teleport to escape. Then you have two units of warriors plus the monoliths gauss weapon's D6 shots to destroy the stranded attacking orks. keep the heavy destroyers safe, nere the lord and monolith too, using their longer range to soften up targets and cause break tests.

one other problem is sweeping advance, if he destroys that unit due to sweeping advance, can those that were already dead get a WBB to another unit if there is one within 6 inches? because of necrons poor initiative, they usually get cut down by SA :(
