Ascendancy had some serious issues that sucked the fun out of it. First off, the AI was really really bad so the game produced little challenge once you figured out how to play. Second, the races in the game were so horibly unbalanced it was crazy. The lizards that could finish any tec research once their ability cooldown was up were so broke it was insane. The gia chicks that made worlds into utopias and the lava eating rock guys that could build on gray squares were also rather busted. Lets also not forget the random ability boosts grated by finding super advanced technology just laying around on planets every once in a while. Get one of those way down the tree while you are playing the tec lizards and it's game over.
So while it was fun for a while, ascendancy lost it's charm once the game was figured out.

Sadly, those are true words. But the main reason I wrote that game into the thread was the fact that I often find myself playing it again and again after some years of laying dormant on my HD, not because it's so über awesome. Therefor I didn't write Baldur's Gate 2 even though I think it's the best game ever made.

Hell no FF7 is clearly the best game ever made
*fanboy mode off*
Tbh I love both games that's the shame I could never decide which one was better, but then I also play MGS3 again and think thats the best game ever made, I really could go on.

And so, due to rising costs of maintaining the Golden Throne, the Emperor's finest accountants spoke to the Demigurg. A deal was forged in blood and extensive paperwork for a sub-prime mortgage with a 5/1 ARM on the Imperial Palace. And lo, in the following years the housing market did tumble and the rate skyrocketed leaving the Emperor's coffers bare. A dark time has begun for the Imperium, the tithes can not keep up with the balloon payments and the Imperial Palace and its contents, including the Golden Throne, have fallen into foreclosure. With an impending auction on the horizon mankind holds its breath as it waits to see who will gain possession of the corpse-god and thus, the fate of humanity...... |

God of war 1 & 2 Dawn of War (Soulstorm now for Skirmish, but I like Dark Crusade's Campaign better) Devil May Cry (The first one, I heard 2 sucks and didn't get it, and 3 is so hard I can't get past the very first 'boss') Fallout 2 Empire Earth (Granted I only use the cheats but it's fun to take your civilisation all the way to post nuclear tech and blow gak up) GTA Vice City And if I still had an XBox I'd play Psychonauts over and over!
