4Chan TG is full of funny if you seek 40k laughs. I've wasted many a valuable paint hour on there....

TSOALR was only ever sorta kinda funny, (and only if you like nerd inside jokes), especially compared to great comics like Achewood. It was a part of the 40k community, and by extension, wargaming community though, and I'll be sad to see it go.

Whether or not you found the comic particularly humorous is really irrelevant IMHO. He took a whole lot of time and effort to create something that a good number of people enjoyed, with (I'm guessing) little to no compensation.
It's really easy to sit back and criticize others who put their work out to be judged, its much harder to take the time and effort to actually create something and leave yourself open to others' judgements.
I'm personally sad to see a contributor to our hobby (temporarily?) pass to the wayside and I'll miss TSOALR.

I recently started reading turn signals. I sat down and read every single comic with my brother (we did voices, it was fun) over a few hours a few weeks ago. I haven't laughed much harder at a web comic as I did when the fantasy pig resulted in exterminatus! And the scarab, roomby? And Onesy?! there was alot of gold in this strip and I, for one, am truly sad to see it go. Hats off to dude for sticking it out for as long as he did and piss on BL for not taking any interest. I know that my LGS would sell many, many copies of a Turn Signals "omnibus" or what-have-you and I am certain that many others would as well. BL really dropped the ball on this and really, it's their loss.

There is an attitude that not having an insanely optimized, one shot, six stage, omnidirectional, inevitable, mousetrap of an assassin list army somehow means that you have foolishly wasted your life building 500 points of pure, 24 karat, hand rolled, fine, cuban fail. That attitude has been shown, under laboratory conditions, to cause cancer of the fun gland.

I couldn't have put it better myself. TSOALR was the funniest web comic I've read and I give full credit to the man for making it consistantly funny over so many years. I've read other GW themed web comics and I've never found them to be that good (someone mentioned Golden Throne earlier in the thread, but I found that strip to be more offensive then funny which detracted from whatever valid point the author had to make). TSOALR managed to capture the humorous side of gaming mixed with a hysterical view of the life of the models themselves.
Ultimately it all comes down to personal taste and what you find funny, but in my view it will be a sad day when TSOALR is posted for the last time.
Here's to the man that gave us the sound a lascannon makes.

Cheers to FREEM and cheers to Ka-Explosion.
I agree though, TSOALR is the best webcomic based on GW. So much so that I consider it the ONLY Warhammer webcomic.
He was incredibly talented and hopefully the sight will come back up, I also hope to see more GW themed webcomics inspired by TSOALR, I know I'm giving it a shot.

This is why IP laws are complete crap. Whether you liked the comic or not, he has a fan base, and there is no way some internet guy self publishing a comic he created based on 40K will hurt GW in any way what-so-ever.
I don't blame BL, it's the BS laws that companies always fall back on... "Oh we're sorry, we appreciate your support and all you've contributed to the community, but the IP law says you can't do it. So sorry, it's not our fault"-That is how I read the BL response.

Well, he could always claim it as a parody. If he found a BIG publisher for it, GW would probably back down quick, as the publisher would probably have deeper pockets than GW.

GW's legal position is they can't let someone make money from stuff based on their IP. They also don't want to publish the book themselves.
TSOALR has had a great run as a webcomic and the proprietor made something off PayPal donations (I myself donated) and from advertising on his site.
There isn't a regular living in it.

The thing is, though, KK, if it's considered a parody, then GW might not get a say so about it. I don't know about UK laws but, in the US, a document that parodies something is covered under free speech.
It's how "Weird Al" Yankovick makes his living.
Considering that I'm not a lawyer, though, I don't pretend to know the specifics.
