Plastic female IG would require way more than just a torso piece. You'd need a separate set of faces, and possibly thinner arms and legs.

Lets forget the whole "female" aspect for a second. What we're actually talking about, is a variant piece thats included on the sprue. In reality, in exactly the same way as GW do at the moment, we're talking about GW sculpting a max of five "female" figures, including heads. These are then broken down for manufacture and included on the same sprue as the rest of the IG miniatures....its no more difficult then what they currently do.

You're making more a issue out of the process then there actually needs to be. In terms of "cost effectiveness" its no more or less cost effective then any of their other kits.

Now if GW was really working on their product in the way you suggest, then at what point would it ever make sense to produce new miniature sets?

the unit i im in has 3 woman, and thats in a 10 man unit.
as a sniper all 3 are great, i would happily let them take my life in thier hands

I'm not more qualified to kill anyone. Nor would I indicate such. My comment about frontline may have been misplaced though. More accurately I should have stuck with; I agree that mixed companies are less effective than an all male (I don't know anything about an all female group).

As for qualifications, males are more likely to have the killer instinct that allows soldiers to function in a warzone. Females also have the habit of being less forgiving than males which could have a bad effect on unit morale.

Girls just aren't into playing with "toy soldiers" like us blokes are. As someone put, the average woman can't tell the difference between a zombie model and an ancient greek model.

For fluff purposes though it would be great to see some female cadians (with helmets). Actually I can understand why they are rare as far as miniatures go, but just thinking about it, why are they absent in art? Apart from possibly the Tanith girls, has anyone ever seen female IG in 40K art?

I believe that this may be true though. I've seen guys fight, but I've also seen them know when enough is enough. I have NEVER seen a fight between two girls end in any way besides being broken up by others.

Feminists are the same as every other group going some make sense some just like to find any reason to shoot there mouths off or cause a fuss, and i don't think they do anyone any favours. As for More girls playing if they were in skirts? I really don't believe that would make any difference.

I am not brave enough for that, but those ladies are, and i have nothing but respect for anyone Male OR female who is willing to risk there own life for mine and our country.

Again, nobody questioned a females ability to kill. And yes, I served in the military for 6 years. Half of the time was with all male units, the second half was mixed. It does cause problems, I could comment on how I feel they performed work, but that isn't the issue.

I love women, literally! I think the idea of an all fem Guard army is cool. I imagine that the lack of women as depicted in GW images, they're probably catering to their demographic. Yes there are ladies who play, but you can't argue that the ratio is like 95% boys.

I am sorry if I offended you Roze but as far as I am concerned A person should be treated by the way they act, not by what body parts, skin color height or weight they were given at birth.....

@ Luna well i find the female faces look a lot nicer *DE* than the male ones.

I have an Escher Army that I use as Imperial Guard Xenotians-listed in 3rd edition. (sorry my spelling may be wrong) and I have converted Amazons and use them as Untill scouts from the Gaunt's Ghosts series. Throughout the years GW has a handful of female Imp Guard models, most were released in the late eighties.

as ive allready said, im willing to put my life in the hands of the 3 girls in my unit
and im willing to bet all 3 of them could kick the gak out of whoever says they cant fight

i think your confusing it a bit.
not all girls run about wearing pink and are attracted to anything somewhat shiny.
there are quite a few who get on with life rather than being a "look at me!" person.
these are the ones that are in the military, not the pink everything ones

I have two 10 strong female IG units that I use as inducted IG with my SoB army all converted from Escher figures. Considering getting two Valkeries for them as well now, the name says it all...
