I hang my sculpting tools in shame.... those are fantastic and make my ownn meagre efforts look like gak.

You really need to do an article on how you created that level of detail, its amazing! (and don't just say "I took my time" that will make me cry!

My comments are my own, and mine own alone. If you have any complaints, please report to Mr Spanky who will take them down for you.....

I care not what methods were employed, your work is incredible!

I look forward to seeing them with a splash of paint on them.

just a little common sense here:

if you plan on making every model with the same style parts, then of course you will mould them
who here would want to make 10 left and 10 right shin guards for termies to that standard?
i would simply make 1 of each and mould them.
that way they stay the same size and keep the unit uniformed.

Holy smeg. Beautiful work. Even if it's molded, I don't care - it's fantastic work. I agree with JD21290, it just makes sense to mold stuff.

i plan on making some imperial custodes (counts as grey knights) and i plan on moulding armour as i go to save alot of time.
allthough, to get to this standard it may take me a year or 10

Go to http://www.sciborminiatures.com/en_,sculpting.php - there is a tute on the technique there.

Also a LOT of brilliant examples of what he's done.

The green stuff tutes there helped me out, but he still makes it look easy - LOL - it's not. You need good technique with GS handling.

The work looks great and molds or not all credit goes to him. Even if people would use molds that they CNC'ed themselves at work or something like that it's still a great feet.

Yeah I've never seen what the big deal is with press moulds anyway. I've seen criticisms of Scibor's work where people have said "Oh he just uses press moulds -all his stuff is crap".

Umm... WTF? His stuff looks awesome. Who cares how he does it, the end result looks great.

Same thing with these Terminators. Clearly something was used to replicate the big bits, but so what? They look amazing. The method shouldn't be taken into consideration when the finished product looks so great.

to use such a method still takes alot of time, and to use it right takes even more, so i would say its just as good as sculpting each one by hand.

the press mould system is great, and im going to try it out and see how it goes.

theres alot of great tutorials on there, if anyone is interested in sculpting, i advise you take a look

Nope there is absolutely nothing wrong with using mold to duplicate GS. Its expected to do so for a whole army.

however, like every sentence , it can be interpreted into more than 1 way.

Very nice work, at first it depressed me, then intriged me, and has now inspired me.

I like the GS mould technique, I may have to try it on some pieces myself.

While technically brilliant I have only one negative comment (With a caveat)

They look awfully "Hulking" ie, just too bulky and clunky. Thing is, the caveat is, its terminator armour, its supposed to be hulking! :-)

Bravo, and keep up the excellent work!

My comments are my own, and mine own alone. If you have any complaints, please report to Mr Spanky who will take them down for you.....

Hay there guys, like to say thanks for all the comments both good an not so good.

As some of you have guessed these have come from a mold.

It has taken me a good year to get the casting of the parts right and finding out the best way to do everything from using the GS right up to casting the part needed with no bubbles.

I will say that I do not use any of Scibors parts and I try to make the mini that I make my own & not copy of someone elses.

I do beleave that my minis are as good as scibors but unlike scibor I don't have a Machin to make the parts as needed.

I do have molds & I make all my parts by hand & beleave me when I say it takes time, a lot of time and your hands will hert a hole lot .

I hope that this has answered your questions.

Thanks guys.

I agree - molds in use, but you COULD NOT manage to get that sort of detail on a figure without using them and look crisp and clean.

A few pieces have been molded, but so what?

The level of skill it takes to do all of this is high, and the end result is, as always the most important thing - they look cool.

Scibor has a great tutorial for creating molds for this sort of thing on his site - recommend to anyone who would like to "play around with some greenstuff".

It looks very good, especially the parts that are molded. You might want to work on making it look more consistent though, the parts that are not molded look very "soft" by comparison.
