stonefox wrote:It was only listed as $50 in rumors and early price sheets. I made a couple posts weeks ago about the staff in GW stores changing it to $58 on their release info sheets.

But it was $50 on the website when it first went up as an advance order, for several days. It wasn't a rumor, it was on the site and they were charging $50 for it.

I assume they'll honor the $50 price for all the orders so far but that's still ridiculous, when it's up on the website and they're taking your money for the thing then I'd assume the price has been decided, but I guess not.

Warmaster wrote:Rumor has it that it was bumped to 58 but that sales really wants it to be 60 they just didn't think people would go for it once it hit the 60 mark.

But, expect it to go up to 60 when they do the June/July price review.

...that has to be one of the stupidest things I've ever read, and I read my own posts.

What slow thinks that $2 is really going to make it that much more appealing? Who the hell would buy one for $58, but draw the line at $60? Judging from what I've seen they should have just priced the thing at $90, since so many people are so committed to buying it anyway and apparently don't care how high the price gets it doesn't matter.

And then they sit here reading forums ( multiple forum of course ) on our replies . If they see us been fine with the higher mistake, they'll raise the price
to that. And claim the cheaper price was the mistake

I hope they ARE reading this and decide to "correct" the price again. Yep, good ole' $90 valkyrie. What are you complaining about, it's still cheaper than the FW model! It's still a deal! Who cares you're saving money!

No, it should be $88, my mistake. $88 will be a lot more appealing.

GreyFox555 wrote:From what I've heard, it was not a price hike. The original listing of $50 USD was an error, stuff like that happens

Oh yeah, an "error" that they purposely left on the website for several days and never announced as such.

Kyrolon wrote:And it usually doesn't matter that they raise the price.

Well yeah, because you're a bunch of suckers.

No, it isn't, and I wouldn't listen to any Kool-Aid drinkers claiming otherwise. I just calls em how I sees em...

Yup, GW charged $50, and I saw it on their website.

GW *should* honor that price, but I don't know how this is going to work for bulk sales.

Personally, I'm thinking to buy mine from the UK and have it shipped over.

That's how it appears on my Order history from preordering it.

So it should only get charged that.

I had thought on buying a squad of Cadians + one Valkyrie for different games to add to my SMs as a standard grunt unit. Wonder what other options are available.

I was just browsing Der Intervebs looking for grav tank ideas when I stumbled upon Old Crow Models (totally forgot about 'em!) Their Crow Infantry/Cargo Lander is only £20 (pretty good for us 'Mericans, due to the exchange rate). The downsides:

1. It's much smaller, only 22cm long compared to the Valkyrie's 30cm (using dimensions from Forgeworld site).
2. It's resin.

I like it's overall design and clean looks. It's worth a look at least: http://www.oldcrowmodels.co.uk/25vtol.htm

Also, their Sabre Heavy Tank would make a good LRBT stand-in (£21 <= $30, compared to $40 for Russ from GW's website).

P.S. Revell makes a 1/48 Hind helicopter. At 37.8cm long, it's longer but probably narrower than a Vulture. It has the advantage of costing a mere $18. http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXVSB2&P=FR

Kitbashing Hinds is probably better than waiting for someone to release a 1/48 MV-22 Osprey.

On the downside those vehicles appear to have very little detail. Honestly I would rather have 1 valk than 2 of those.

There is no model equivalent to the Valkyrie in scale for standard non-Apocalypse 40k except maybe the Monolith. The Valkyrie's dimensions are ridiculously huge. It's like 1 1/2 Land Raiders.
