AC/HB predator, 85 points of pure awsome. Not only does it look amazing, it is a swiss army knife for my forces. I run 2 in most armies and 4 S7 AP4 and 12 S5 AP4 shots at something that is 36" away is a scary, scary thing.

I'm partial to chaplains. They reign in my Death company (a close second to my favorite), as well as fulfill the mandatory HQ slot, and also add great benefits on the charge. I can't make a list without one.

I have to go with Belial... just over 100 points to turn Terminators into troops, and have the ability to give an apothecary and a +1 attack standard to one unit of those fearless troops

Noob bikers no question. Well, there was a question versus Bloodcrushers, but their (mostly) scoring-ness and speed puts them firmly over the top. Note that this is without the Fateweaver, and BK's next to Kairos is another story.

Great Unclean One: Cheapest greater daemon, and for 180 pts (giving flies and unholy might) you get one of the hardest units to kill in the game.

Upgrading to Ku'gath for 120 pts for a 6 wound FNP 4+ invul save. Taking the Nurgle GDs are almost a must for smaller games, would only ever switch one out for fateweaver in bigger games

Best Unit in the game has to go to Nobs hands down.

I've always been a fan of the Blood Angels Death Company...

But I guess I really like the look/feel of a fully kitted Tactical Marine Squad. Generic, fills almost any role, and they get a sweet ass ride.

Point for Point the best unit in the game are units of ork boys.

However, I do love my thunderfire cannons. +1 to the cover of any ruins in my zone. 3 different shots to take., and even if you do destroy it I still have a tech marine with a sevro harness that I can use.

Plus I love the look on people's face when they get excited that they high the tech marine only to find out his save is a 2+

I cast my vote for the Eldar Fire Dragon.
There that great little unit that everyone says...Look that man thinks he can hurt the Land Raider...wait what 6 Melta shots, AND TANK HUNTERS...ONLY 123 Pt, YOUR KIDDING!"

There the LR Leveling, DP Devastating, Terminator Torching, Hammerhead Hurting, Battle Wagon Blasting, Carnifex charring, Broadside Blistering, MEQ Melting...(i could go on) wonders of the Eldar.

A standard Crisis suit squad for all around flexibility, firepower, and durability. Only drawbacks are cost and low initiative but still worth it.

No matter what edition I'm playing, I'll remember those awesome boyz from the last codex with heavy CC weapons.

"wait, my termies have a 2+ save."

"nope: 'eavy CC weapons say you have a 4+"

"****"

but, in this edition

Competitive: Thousand Sons
Forget the cost. AP 3? dude, that's just lame.

Fun: Cadian Squads
So what if they have lasguns? try killing all 50 of 'em, I dare you.

Overall: Snikrot.
Have you seen the model? Splinter cell Orks baby! Plus he and his Kommandos a'int laughable.

that right, if you use tham right, they just won't die, and they can pour an obscene amount of firepower into something.

Congratulations, your dismissive and conclusory commentary has provided nothing to this discussion or the wider community on whose behalf you arrogantly presume to speak nor does it engage in any meaningful way the remark it lamely targets. As focusedfire said, a three tau crisis team, flexible, good movement, pretty durable (especially with drones), and with a good choice of weapons, can be custom made for a specific purpose or made a generalist unit.

I would also like vote for the railhead. High strength shot for tank busting, the submunition round for troops, excellent range, its secondary weapons are both good infantry killers and it can get a cover save for very little points.

Hmm, good question.

Best unit, a squad of 7 assault termies in a LRC with Khan and a chappy. Hits stupidly hard.

The harlie Solitair is my favorite character though, he was just so bad ass and a cool model.

Tactical marines. Never lets you down.

Genestealer Cultist Initiates. Crazed incompetent fanatics throwing themselves at the brave defenders of the imperium. Incompetent scums and dregs.

Genestealers. A bit worse for wear in 5th, but they can still kill most anything, except maybe sgt Ripley.

Not only does it look truly badass, it can lay down ridiculous firepower and take it all in return. While not cheap at ALL (either points of money), I absolutely love them.

snikrot and 15 kommandos with 2 burnas. Survivability (low) hitting power (decent for the turn they come in they can pop anything av10/12 and eat 10 marines on the charge) do they die fast? asolutely! But theres the intimidation factor, once your opponent knows you have 15 boys with a str6 nob coming wherever they want there whole game plan changes, now they have to play (even if its a slight amount) on your terms, things cant sit back comfortably and shoot (thunderfires, pathfinders, tau/IG have to be wary of placement and work to protect assets). Units cant sit on back field objectives with impunity. It changes the whole aspect of your opponents game.

"For the emperor!" "E' aint listenin!" *squish* (my fav blood and thunder quote)

BUT NOBS are NO GOOD at CC "ork town grot"

Assault Terminators with storm shields. The only thing that kills them (note: during my career) is C'Tan and squad of Necron Warriors (really ashemed of that one). Also, Drop Podding Ironclad Dreadnought with two heavy flamers is pretty sweet.
For the other armies, Ork Trukks and Lootas aaaaaaaaallll the way. Bloodcrushers and -letters are pretty fancy, too.

Space Orks: 11/1/1
