Nice Report, but one thing I'm wondering about: At the end, how many Necrons were left? Because, according to your list, if they hit 15, they would've phased out, and the last couple pics make it look like not many necrons survived...

Also, about the Necron army: I am assuming that that isn't fully painted, so why did (whoever was the necrons) glue in the gauss rods? All that'll do is make it harder to paint...

Ah, very nice...yeah, I just couldn't tell from the pics how much was left in the end.

Oh, ok. It's just that I've seen lots of people putting the rods in during assembly, which makes it way harder to paint decently

Virtually all of the people that I know who don't paint their armies end up not staying in the hobby - those who take the time to paint, do. Not a strawman, simple fact.

Anyway, as I said, great report.

Are destroyers considered scoring units?

i understand the c'tan aren't, and if that's the case, you would have phased out.

Destroyers are still necrons.

and I use army builder which tells me exactly when I phase out.

I was 1 model away from phasing out at the end of the game.

Akaiyou - Are you going to wash or detail the silver ones? I ask because I knew a guy who chromed his Marines and they just looked like bear metal (even the plastic ones - quite confusing). And I had a friend who base-coloured his Tau in a grey that made everything look like plastic (even the metal ones - also quite confusing). So I'd just be careful there.

I'm still here some 15 years later. My group is coming up on 10 years with only one of us painting a lot. One guy who did nothing but paint towards the end has quit. Yes, all of what I just said is anecdotal, but it just shows the opposite of what you said (which was also anecdotal).

You equated someone who doesn't paint to someone who is lazy. If it's not a strawman, it's at least a lie.

Nah i don't think im going to be doing much else with the Necrons I have 4 other armies besides Necrons with Tyranids being my main army (and much better painted than the Crons)

And i am actually very pleased with how my necrons look and people at the store usually ask me about how i got them done and what i used and what motivated me because they do look VERY different to most other necrons that are painted.

I like the style and i the silver ones don't really look like they are painted in the pics but if you look closely they are very silver when next to the grey plastic models. When they are alone however it looks liek i havent even primed.
