Well I have to second that is LOOKS like a plasma gun.

Which really would just add insult to injury in the case of the Vendetta.

Kid_Kyoto wrote:But this probably means, NO VENDETTA KIT. At least not for a while.

It also means that the 'kit for every codex unit' rule is DEAD, DEAD, DEAD.

That died when Jervis came back on board and took us back to the Dark Days of 2nd Ed 'releases schedules' - now not only do we not know when something's coming out, we don't even know if something's coming out. It started with Daemons, then Orks, even Marines (we know we're getting the Storm... but what else?). It will happen with Guard, and with every other race from now on.

We're going to have actual proper gaps in the line for the first time since 2nd Ed (Orks notwithstanding - they've never had a full range).

I'm not annoyed at the lack of plastic kit for the Vendetta, I'm more annoyed with the concept of the Vendetta - a Valkyrie, but heaps better, for no actual loss of ability or utility, just a minor increase of points. So why bring the Valkyrie? Why not just give the Valk better weapon options? Why create a compeltely kit-less new unit that invalidates the one you're just about to release? I mean, Valks will sell like water to a man in a desert, but the Vendetta just leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

Plastic kits are usually started and completed 8-18 months before a Codex's release, correct? My theory is that the Vendetta was created after the Valkyrie plastic sprues had been finalised. In otherwords, it is an afterthought, so it is unsurprising that there's no kit for it and that the parts don't appear on the sprue.

Even with the FW conversion kit making it possible to create one without conversion, I'm still having a hard time figuring out if I'm going to continue to live in my fantasy world where the Vendy doesn't exist.

Theory is, GW and FW are now working together to take our money from the new plastic valkyrie. Now this i can believe.

Man am I ever gonna be so poor when all this stuff comes out. I knew they were going to make a vulture conversion kit using the plastic Valk.

The second picture definitely resembles a plasma cannon, there is even a reflection.

Love the punisher cannon vulture. Of course it looks nastier than it is I'm sure. 40 shots, 20 hits, maybe 15 wounds, 7 orks dead after cover saves. Or against plaguemarines(what I'm worried about)....20 hits 10 wounds 6 saved by power armor 2 more by FnP so 2 dead? Oh well, its certainly a manly kit.

Also I used to have one of those gloriously overgunned gundam models and for the life of me I can't find the thing. I loved it so much

The conversion kits look nice, but I can't help but think they're going to be expensive as hell, like all conversion kits. Probably end up being $90-100, not much better than the full resin version.

It's not a plasma cannon, it's just FW's take on the nose sensor package with a big ass searchlight. And for the record, the Codex entry for the Vendetta has it armed with 3 twin-linked lascannons and only two weapon upgrade options - Hellfury missiles and sponson heavy bolters.

Or even just 20 shots with the two guns counting as a single weapon.

It would be odd to have the Vuture putting out more firepower than the Russ version.

I just tore something internally from the excitement and the fear of the damage to my wallet.

At least the Punisher gun itself looks better than the converted Russ one we saw a while back.

These look great. But for the standard one you could probably convert your own if you're handy. Use the barrels from a lascannon dreadnought arm for the cannons on side of the cockpit and maybe a razorback lascannon under each wing?
