Think about it, for them to tell them to shut down would kill what little respect most of us still have for them, destroy pretty much all their word of mouth advertising (aka Fanbase feths off) and no doubt would cause a news shitstorm somewhere (Don't even try and tell me the BBC isn't run by nerds)

The Only times I can think of where GW Legal has put their foot down are when someone wants to make money off their IP (TSOALR) or when another countries Laws mess with their IP policy (Damantus)

I love the comic. I hope that you are able to avoid enough GW IP but still include enough references that it's questionable whether or not it's a generic sci-fi in case you want to release a non-infringing book for sale.
