Why?

It's all 'Imperial' technology.

Got the Manticore and Valkyrie painted up. They still need work but at least they'll look OK on a table.

EDIT looks like I'm the first on Dakka to post a manticore!

w00t me!

Versteckt in den Schatten deines Geistes.

I see you've taken the "feth painting the pilots" option and just painted over the cockpit windows. Very good.

How do you know there aren't two extremely well painted pilots under that tinted glass?

Oh right, cause I'm lazy and bore easily.

I might try the pilots for Valk #3 but probably not.

they might be useful for terrain later as computer operators.

So I want to try some more counter assault in my army, and naturally Iron Hand came to mind. But, as noted I ain't dropping $17 (or whatever) on one metal model. Especially one who doesn't look anything like S6.

Not when I have some models left over from the golden age of Troll Boss Bob's bargain basement.

The tech priests say he'll be ready by this weekend.

The sad thing is I had 3 Straken's about a year ago and sold them off for $2-3 each just to make them go away ...

That said, I like your pit boss iron hand better. Looks sufficiently choppy, and potentially more furious than IHS himself.

tried out the Bionic Six this weekend.

Oddly I didn't really need them. Guns and Marbo took care of most of the marines. A team of termis and deep striking assault marines finally hit my lines but 8 plasma guns and a demo charge took care of them long before assault was an option. All Iron Hand got to assault was a LR crusader where he tore off all the weapons.

My Bane Wolf (originally intended to be a 3rd edition Hell Hound) was the break out star of the game. So much so I painted up a second.

Here's a better picture of my vendetta showing how the las cannon conversion works.

And here they all are.

Today's project was 4 Chimeras.

Whew. GOD I HATE THAT MODEL!

Here's the first one done, a pimped up ride for the psyker battle squad

The driver got the flaming head from the flagellents and has a skull staff, then tons of bits and books and skulls from the Tomb Kings and Dark Angels.

My favourite model of all is Credo. The pit gladiator a close second.

I like what you did with the vendetta I was thinking of smeting similar.

You inspire me to post picks of my lazyily painted army. Of course its marines hurr.

Got the Chimera painted this week and tired them out on Saturday.

Lost to Necrons but it was a close game. I almost lost hope when a monolith deep striked into my lines but the next turn there was no where for a squad of warriors to come out so they were destroyed.

Cool! Not many folks mob a Monolith's access points.

How did the Manticore work out for you?

The secret to painting a really big army is to keep at it. You can't reach your destination if you never take any steps.

I wish I could say it was a plan but it was really dumb luck.

He deepstriked and deviated right into the middle of my lines. The side was blocked by an immobilized chimera, the front by some poor guardsmen being assaulted, the back was against the edge of the board and the other side by one of my few surviving las cannons so it wasn't going to move.

In fact it was my opponent who noticed the issue before I did!

How did the Manticore work out for you?

This game, not so hot but it's won games for me before.

With d3 templates a turn it really overcomes the accuracy problem.

hey Kyoto, I'm curious about your Vendetta conversion. Can you snap some pictures of the mounting under the wings and the twin las on the fuselage? some up close ones that make the construction rather obvious for me?
