lol, and actually LotR minis are really cheap. In Canada its 30 bucks for a LotR set and 40 for a regular last I checked.

In US lotr is extremly the new wave of boxes are about 20-25 bucks for 24 models it is by far their cheapest system out there

The scale for LotR miniatures is quite broad, actually. The original plastics were 'small', that is, true 25mm. Then the metal models were more 'heroic scale'. The difference between plastic Rohirrim and a metal Eomer is noticeable. Heck, in a bunch of plastic foot troops, a metal Eowyn looks like a hulking goon.
The metal Army of the Dead were larger than many plastics, but the new plastic Army of the Dead are bigger than the metal ones! The plastic Army of the Dead are actually very close in scale to WHFB 28's.
So I will be interested to see how these new plastic Galadhrim compare with a) the metal Galadhrim already available and b) the plastic LotR High Elves. I'm sure they will be bigger than the HE; I would not be at all surprised if they come close to 28mm.

They look nice, going to work on painting some up this week. We got 6 cav, 10 infantry, and the new steamtank in this months Black Box. Sadly, that's only enough for 1 company of infantry, although it's 3 companies of cavalry.

Where did you read that? Second-edition (and I'm sure later stuff, I can't recall the sources) Wargear, if I'm not mistaken, and again in Codex: Eldar (the 2nd edition one, not one has been so detailed afterwards), said that the Banshees had more females than males, just that. I know it's old stuff, but unless something points otherwise, there are still males in the aspect. Some of them might have either big breasts or stolen their sister's armour, by the look of the miniatures.
Given how "fairy" they are, it wouldn't surprise me.
