I liked Battle for Middle Earth, and LOTR Conquest.
You know what's been distracting me lately? Star Wars Battlefront.
I've played the Hoth level soo many times now it's not even remotely funny.

Some people play to win, some people play for fun. Me? I play to kill toy soldiers.

I'll toss my hat in for the Punisher. It was actually pretty fun. The PS2 version was the one I played.

Any game that releases AFTER the movie comes out is better. Most games either come out with the movie or before it.

I have to go with Spiderman 2, Dune and I hear Ghostbusters is pretty cool.
But I feel in the spirit of the thread, we are talking about movies with a game scheduled for release on/or about the same time with the same premise/story etc.
So...
Dune was really made years later and evolved into Command & Conquer.
Ghostbusters was made years later and is actually more of a third movie (although a third movie is in production).
So I guess Spiderman 2 gets my vote.

I belive it would count more as a "prequel" to the movie, but I enjoyed "Road to Fiddlers Green",wich was based on George A Romeros "Land of the dead" film.

I'd also put a name in for Star Wars Battlefront, one and two, although the Jedi/Chars can get a bit annoying in 2 so tend to get turned off after a while. (Was gutted when the game rumoured to be BF 3 was stated as not, hope they finally get around to making it though.)
Not sure if they count but the Star Wars and Indiana Legos games are really good fun as well.

Ah yeah, as I said in another thread, there are a lot of good Star Wars games, especially the old ones. Dark Forces, Jedi Knight, Jedi Outcast, X-Wing, TIE Fighter, X-Wing Alliance, Rogue Squadron, etc.
I cut my teeth on games like that.

I really enjoyed the Lion King, too. That was the first game I ever beat, I think.

I wish the Dune video games had kept running. Westwood/EA made Emperor: Battle for Dune, which was fething awesome, then it just quietly died.
I miss David Arkenstone's Harkonnen music.

Battle for Middle Earth was a fun RTS.
However, I felt LotR Conquest was absolute trash.
Star Wars Battlefront was playable but I thought it was fairly mediocre.
All those games really failed to capture the fun of BF1942 (and its good sequels) though they so desperately tried to emulate the concept and gameplay.
I agree with The Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay being the best movie tie-in ever.
Though as stated earlier there are a lot of pretty solid Star Wars titles out there [obviously I don't think Battlefront is one of them] - but all the good ones are tie-ins, not direct translations of the film.

It never really died, it became Command and Conquer +, ++, +++, etc. I would still love to see a Dune remake.

I always loved the live-action cutscenes. The acting was kind of corny sometimes, but that only added to the charm for me.

LotR Conquest was really terrible. The missions were fun for a little while playing co-op, but bugs like Wormtongue falling to his death (and taking the item that you need with him) that require a restart of everything were way, way too common.
We tried out the vs. mode but it was horribly balanced. For the "capture the ring" mode, I just grabbed a troll and rolled their whole team. My friend grabbed an Ent to fight back, but I beat him every time with the troll. Weak balancing.
Also, I preferred Star Wars: Battlefront 1 to the second one. The look and feel was better, as was everything but Galactic Conquest. I like space battles but there's not enough emphasis on fighter vs. fighter stuff.
Also, they killed Wookiees. Wookiee Smugglers were awesome.

There were moments in Enter the Matrix where it was made of win. When you're running around having awesome kung-fu fights with Vampires, or you've turned God-Mod on and are having a slow-mo flawlessly mo-capped fight with an Agent, it was great.
The rest of the time... well let's just say I've been unable to finish that game due to fatal crash to desktop/computer instantly reboot failures whenever it tried to load one of the God-awful driving sequences.

Hmm, just played Van Helsing.
What good fun that was. I love that gattling cannon.
And the buzzsaws man, the buzzsaws. Why can they freeze people? I don't know, nor do I care, because the game is awesome.
IGN gave this a 6.9? Screw you guys.
