Thanks! I think it's a pretty easily-replicatable conversion that would work in a normal power-armoured Marine. The flamer is definitely from a sentinel, and the backpack/hose is from the multi-melta, yes. The right (his right) arm is from a bolter Marine (I had to cut a bit out of the flamer) whilst the left arm is from a lascannon, I believe. The hand was taken from a chaos marine with sword, though an easy replacement could be found.

Be sure to link me to your version when you make it!

Will do Molotov, it might be a while due to financial restrictions, but i've got a good base to start with, thanks to that example

Sticks and stones may break my bones, but melta guns excite me

Awesome.

In the meantime, here's some models from another of the retinues that'll be featuring in our campaign - that of Inquisitor Ferox. The paintjobs are by my friend Darren, who'll be running them - the Torturer is converted by me.

It is indeed! Thanks for the interest.

I've ordered two new models who should be coming soon - the Mighty Zug and Tomb Queen Khalida models...

In the meantime, I've been fiddling around with this Guard veteran:

Hey Dave, thanks for the interest. It's actually a little bit from the cities of death sprues with the spikes cut off. Not being a plasticard maestro like yourself, I just made do with the first thing I could find that was about the appropriate size!

By the way - our group's looking forward to making a truck like yours for our Inquisitor games - with some modifications it'll make a great civilian vehicle like the farming truck shown in the Inquisitor book.

Hey guys, I'm sorry for having not updated these past few days. Steve's busy working on a daemonhost for Inquisitor Adorno's retinue, so hopefully I can share shots of it with you.

In other news, I've put up an INQ28 BLOG online. Please check it out! I'd definitely appreciate it.

I'm loving it all. The great thing about INQ28 is that there are so many great conversion possibilities. You've inspired me to try my hand at it as soon as I've done enough to my Guard army!

Armies:
(CSM/HH) - Iron Warriors; Death Guard; World Eaters; Night Lords
IG - Vestfalian Expeditionary
Force (Solar Auxilia - HH)
SM - Blades of Inaros (Homebrew)
DE - Kabal of Ouroboros

Hey, thanks for the comment. I hope it is inspirational! I think that cross-pollenation of ideas is the greatest asset the GW web community can give us. It's also why I've set up the blog - to provide a sort of a hub for INQ28. When you get around to it, be sure to message me or email me and I'll put a link to your work into the blog!

Talking of the blog, I've added a new update. Pictures are here, but for further details be sure to check the blog out!

Thanks, Myrlyn! I appreciate your comment very much.

I've been waiting for a mail order from Games Workshop for a few days now, and it's finally arrived this morning. The order contained Tomb Queen Khalida and The Mighty Zug inside.

I've set about converting Khalida in an attempt to de-mummify her. It's going pretty well thus far, as you can see:

To a degree I've been influenced by 'Rosethorn Now', the 2006 Golden Daemon-winning squad entry by Migsula. I'm considering making my Khalida into something like a psyker or something.

I've also started working on fluff for my Mighty Zug character. I've been pondering whether or not to remove the belt he's wearing, but if I keep it it looks rather like the sort of prize belts that wrestlers and boxers wear. I imagined it might be a belt from an Imperial Guard's regimental boxing challenge or somesuch. The Mighty Zug model is massive - the Mighty Zug in Blood Bowl fluff is supposed to be around seven feet tall! I figured that rumours might have him being half-Ogryn, though it's never been proven one way or the other. He tends to knock people out who ask him about it... but then he tends to knock most people out!

Well, thank you for the comment! I often hear that INQ28 is 'Inquisitor on a shoestring', but I think it's important that INQ28 has its own footing, rather than being the illegitimate, inferior sibling to INQ54.

Out of interest, though, I'd love it if I could get an issue number for that White Dwarf? Thanks in advance. I did see on Kendoka's site Pega had managed to green-stuff a 28mm Covenant, 28mm Slick Devlan and a 28mm Damien 1247 which I've always found amazing. Alas, I don't have those sorts of skills!

Ah, thanks - I do have #317 and I checked out Ben Cartwright's models. I like what he did to make Barbaretta - the 40k/Fantasy scales are somewhat lacking of nice female models. The Malicant is quite nice, too, though I don't really like his Crash Thraxx that much.

Thanks for the heads up, though, Abhorsen - I really appreciate looking at other INQ28 work.

Ah, well I post different things in each of the different INQ28 threads - there's a thread on the Ammobunker, B+C, the Conclave, Dakka Dakka and Warseer. Obviously I have to be careful on the B+C that all my models are (or can be explained away as) choices from the Daemonhunter/Witchhunter codices.

In the meantime, I've continued work on my Khalida model; here's where I'm at so far.

Beautiful GS and Kitbask work! I've been weighing the value of starting up INQ28 myself and your thread and stunning work may have just tipped me over the fence in the right direction. I love personalized minis but there's just not a lot of chance for them in standard games of 40K. INQ28 highly appeals to me for that reason and now you've really inspired me to go pick up the free set of rules hanging around the internet.

Of course, the only downside would be that I'd have to pin a tonne of crap so that I could change a mini's appearance as he grows "Moar Leet"

Thanks for the comment! Be sure to check out the INQ28 Blog for more - I've actually just posted up my first "featured models" article, with the INQ28 work of Kaled. If you do get into INQ28, and you have some cool stuff to show, I'll gladly post it up in the blog.

I think 40k has as much scope for personalisation as you want there to be - counts as is a powerful thing. It's just Inquisitor lends itself more in that direction.

As for character development, that's down to the group, though characters don't tend to change that much in the short space of times that campaigns generally represent (at least, that's been my experience) - it's also a reason that Inquisitor doesn't have an experience system or the like.

Thanks! I've been a bit distracted over the weekend, but I've done a little bit more to her today (and in fact I've done a bit more since)

I'm developing some fluff that has her as a death cult assassin, but I'll probably post it on the INQ28 blog once I've developed it properly.

Good stuff as always mate. I like the use of the SW backpack head on the cyber mastif, looks much better than the stock head!

Nice use of khalida too, it's a cool pose and the GS work looks promising already.

Cheers,

Dante

Hey, Dante - thanks for the comment, I really appreciate it. I worked out some fluff for the Khalida model (or Elspeth Le Kard, as she's now known) and that's up on the INQ28 blog. Today I've been tidying and fiddling around with a few conversions - some of which will eventually go up on my ordinary 40k forum thread.

This one, though, might prove more interesting:

I'm still not sure what to do with it, but it's been an interesting diversion. I was thinking somewhat of the film Kingdom of Heaven, with the King with Leprosy who wears the silver mask. I imagined he might be an Inquisitor with a disfigured face of some kind... not sure.

Also, I've been working on this guy:

I've been working off a concept suggested in 'Bloody Work is its Own Reward' by Ben Dell, wherein a Daemonhunter is gifted warp-sight by a Daemonette. I was thinking that this guy was a Guardsman, but never particularly suited to it. He doesn't just blindly follow orders, he instead sees the shades of grey (somewhat of a useful quality that makes him useful to the Inquisition). I'm still fiddling with the concept but I'm sure it'll come to something eventually.

Lastly, Steve's sent this PIP pic:

Done a bit of work on the Daemonhost, not much though as aside from a few games of DOW2 with Mol at the weekend i've been feeling under the weather the last few days.

The metals are pretty much done, i'll be onto the skin next, then hopefully a finish in the next couple of days.

Update:

Another two conversions that I forgot to put up yesterday. I've always liked the concept of Gav Thorpe's character, Mechsimus Oirelius:

I've begun working on my own version of the character. Here's where I am at the moment; I'm still in the middle of green-stuffing, which is why the right (our right) sleeve is much better than the left.

What I want to do is to alter the flagellant's mask to make it more sci-fi, and then to just GS up the other sleeve.

Also, I've been somewhat inspired by Kaled to include a Rogue Trader model in my INQ28 endeavours. I managed to find #070510/40 "Bolta 10". To my mind, he looks nothing like a modern-day Ork, and that's where I began to get the idea to make him into a different species of alien. The model's details have been slightly softened and deformed which is why I had to replace the barrel of the gun. I then took off the ears and some fur on his back.

The only question will be what colour he is! In order to differentiate him from Orks, green is obviously out. I had been giving some thought to making him orange or yellow, but I don't know right now.

Thanks, Shotgunfacelift! (Cool name, too!)

Things have been a bit quiet the past few days for my INQ28 stuff. I've been working on statlines for Inquisitor Adorno and his retinue, which you can find in this thread on Warseer. El_Diablo has expressed a desire to work on the retinue of Inquisitor Adorno (Adorno, Seraphael and Mourn) so that I can play some games with them.

Today, though, I woke up to find that El_Diablo had posted a new painted model in the Ammobunker INQ28 thread; a Hierophant. Now I've always loved this model, and foolishly traded mine away years ago. El_Diablo managed to find a (slightly mangled) Hierophant missing its blade in his bitz-box, and has restored it with a plastic chainsword blade from a Chaos Space Marine.

El_D said that this is probably his favourite paintjob thus far on our INQ28 models, and it's easy to see why. The model is just bursting with character - that face is amazing! Every time I see the model, I see new details. And the funniest thing is that I hadn't planned for this model - I have to work out a spot for him in one of my retinues!

A brilliant model to wake up to, and I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.
