Modern Warfare 2 didn't seem that innovative to me. The ice climbing looked ace, but they turned Soap into a thug. The combat looked rather boring.

How do we know Soap wasn't a thug? I mean, given that we played as him, never talked, etc...

Going into Sony's press conference I was wondering if they would just beg their loyal followers to wait around another year or not. But after the tech demo of their motion controls I feel slightly more optimistic. But I still have to ask myself, "What does PS3 have that isn't coming out on XBox already?" and the answer is, not a lot I want to play.

Anyone else not recognise that project natal thing is just complete bulshit, like nothing exists yet all it is is an idea. The videos were all mock ups. It's obviously some panic induced reaction to sony's motion device.
Honestly they should be getting ripped to shreds for that. And stephen spielberg says "what an achievment", what achievment? it doesn't exist! Its comparable to someone hosting a press conference about an idea for a time machine.

1UP wrote:At a recent developer roundtable with Shigeru Miyamoto, the famed director revealed the first details on an as yet unnamed Zelda title scheduled to come to Wii in 2010. The title will definitely use the recently released Wii MotionPlus, and, depending on the popularity of the controller, it may even require the peripheral.
During the discussion, Miyamoto briefly showed an image from the game featuring a mature Link barely visible through a broken wall. Although the picture only showed Link from behind, a short girl in a long robe stood in full view at Link's back. Wearing a crystal necklace and emanating a blue aura, she gave off an otherworldly look -- akin to Zora from Ocarina of Time.
Miyamoto had hoped to show off the game at Nintendo's E3 press conference, but his development team wanted to focus on defining the concept for this Zelda iteration. The team has been experimenting with different gameplay and dungeon designs and they decided that their time would be better spent focusing on the game, rather than a demo.

What? It does exist though. They had people playing a few tech demo esq mini games with it during the show. From what they've told us, the Peter Molyneux thing was operating in some capacity but only seen behind closed doors.
Motion control is probably one of the things we will never get rid of at this point. It's going to be hounding us and getting into all our games, we will never be able to veg out on the couch and just play video games anymore.

er, what?
Did you not watch the tech demos, done on live TV?
Don't be such a blind fanboy that you deny it when facts are in your face.
Natal's been registered with the US Patent Office for a few months now, but everyone was of the opinion that Microsoft was just patenting the IDEA, and didn't have a working tech.
And boy were they wrong.

Please don't derail this thread guys.
I haven't seen natal so far, but I heard Molyneux was very excited about it and...well, Tycho from Penny Arcade put it very eloquently when he said:
Peter Molyneux has no credit with me - he must always pay in advance, cash only. I am completely impervious to him, so when he says that he's invented some kind of digital boy this firm assertion is refracted into harmless light. Illusions of the kind he proposes are tremendously fragile - it's hard enough to maintain them in raw text, without the idiosyncrasies of the nested recognition systems in play with Milo. Please understand: I love the future, and I long to live there. I want very much to simulate a cognizant digital imp. But this man has broken my heart so many times that it can no longer contain love.
