I see exactly where you are coming from, I suppose I took to much thought on it looking as orderly as the Forgeworld trenches. If you see those on forgeworld they are straight, and all stone. I had it in my mind that they have some tool of the unseen future that makes straight and nice trenches lol.

They do. In one of the Vraks books(don't remember which one) they mention a vehicle that digs out trenches and places in the Trench Works that FW makes.
