It can be argued that ALL of GW's hobby products are superfluous since wider choice with equal or better quality can easily be found at lower prices at many other places.

But it makes sense for GW to round out its range in order to be a "one stop shop" for "the hobby".

Wonderful... in a sort of excessive and... excessive way.

People will buy this, but it won't help anyone in the long run. Perhaps we can dream of all the other, cheaper, better, and more widely available products while we....

.... GW's.... and finish up with a nice foot-rub and sandwich.

Oh those crazy GW types. What will they think of next?

I wouldn't mind a painting chair. Or perhaps a painting sofa.

What would be inside the globe is the important question?

Perhaps they could economize by chopping up all the overstocked models... wait, this might be a good idea.

So, I just spoke with the GW law team, and they don't like this idea at all. They said something about my liver, kidneys, then... toes, I think.

Oh no, I think I just thought of the Chaos edition. Yeah that was what the GW law team must have been talking about.

I bought a plastic palette from an art and graphics shop. It cost 80p. It's got more dimples in it than the GW one but it doesn't have the French Old Masters style thumb cutout.

One of the things I never do is buy supplies from GW. It just isn't worth it. It never has been.

Well, I for one am interested in the "water cup" or whatever you want to call it, if only for the brush-holding slots.

As with everything else...if you don't like it, don't buy it. Bitching on the interwebs doesn't accomplish anything.

Yes, but it keeps us off the streets.

And brush holding slots? Who leaves their brushes in water for the bristles to get bent at the bottom of the pot? Brush care, Blue Orphen, brush care!

A 12"x12" white ceramix tile is the best pallete I have ever had. Cleans easily, pleanty of room to mix a spot color.

Old coffee mug works just fine as a water cup as well. The -one- time I lest my brushes in a cleaning mix, I used a small ball of blue tac on the lip of the cup to hold the bristles up off the bottom.

the one thing I do seem to need is more plastic brush/bristle sleeves. I always seem to be loosing them. Although I -might- have found a standin last weekend. Took an straw from a Capri-Sun pouch that the kids had polished off, washed it off, snipped off an inch and half and it seems to be making do.

I think the point is they'll be suspended above the bottom.

At least, I hope they would be.

And yes, it's actually helpful for people to discuss this to a degree.

You can get non-spill water cups from art/graphic supply shops and there's something similar at The Early Learning Centre.

My one doesn't have vertical brush holding slots but it has two horizontal brush resting slots and a pop-in sealing lid.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
I wash my brushes in a jam jar and use the non-spill water pot for mixed up flow improver, because it can seal.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
My water pot has a cheerful yellow top, so it's not Grimdark™ enough to use with 40K figures.

I may actually buy the water pot because if you look closely at the grooves for holding the brushes, they're tapered. This means that I'd be able to fill the pot with an acrylic brush cleaning solution / brush conditioner and allow my brushes to soak a bit upside down and not worry about the bristles getting damaged.

That's exactly what I was thinking... and I use the same pallettes as you, too (when I get around to painting).

It was the gw paper cup that lasts like an hour costs $5 and you can only buy one at a time.

So GW's releasing a plastic palette - which will probably be $15ish - that we can get at Wal Mart for $0.99. The cheap one will have more wells. Hmm... Can't wait.

At least it looks like a shield.

I never thought it looked like a shield until you mentioned it, but now I come to think of, the water jar looks like a crystallic fusion reactor's coolant top-up cap.

What will GW's designers think of next?

HAHA! That's an awesome idea.

GW could do those head mounted magnifying glasses and make them look like SM scout goggles.
