My fiancee and I are looking at getting married in September, on our four year anniversary. She's supportive of my hobby (we met at a Dungeons and Dragons session at what served the college town for an LGS before it went under) and wants to play an army of her own. It took a while to find one that met her checklist, but she settled on Thousand Sons. I play Space Wolves. Go figure. She didn't know any of the fluff, and had to ask me why I was laughing when she decided. At least my Berzerker army is nearly done, so I don't have to worry about getting my tail handed to me by AP3 spitting walking death marines. She has actually played a game, albeit with my army, and she stomped all over an ork army at 1000 points. I know her opponent was going easy (at least at the start) but her rolling was ASTONISHING. The high point of that game was when she took down a Warboss, painboy, and four nobs kitted for allocation with a wounded Wolf Priest and a Blood Claw with a power sword. A heinous number of wounds were dealt, the Wolf Priest made his necessary invulnerables, the orks broke, and were caught. My army doesn't perform that well for me.

April & I have been gaming together for a while now. I didn't really say much about the hobby until she saw all my carnifexes and big guys on the table one day. We played a small gaunts vs. tac squad game and she was really interested. Now she's painting her bug army and we play every single week.
Like you Reaver, her rolling is unbelievable. When we're at my place and playing her rolling is either impossibly good or really terrible. When we go out and play she's amazing and I always have her roll my armour saves and space out my gaunt hordes. She just has this thing where she places everyone 2 inches away from everyone so blast templates hit maybe 3 or 4, which is something I guess I just don't have patience for.

The dice gods must favor those of the fairer sex. This matter will require some research...I must come up with a way to entice these fickle entities of randomization back to my side before her army reaches completion and she stomps me into unrecognizable paste.
Living sacrifice? Dressing in drag? Meditating on a mountain for twenty-five years...nah, that would defeat the purpose a bit. Hmm.
On a serious note, her advice on my painting has increased my skill a lot. We are both animators, but we both took the required art courses in just about everything and she took to painting better than I. The unbiased critique is invaluable. Sadly, she won't be fielding her own army anytime soon...she keeps loading on other projects and things to do that take precedence.

I've been in a relationship for 5years as of July 4th but I rememnber in highschool when a girl
would come over I would always have a drawer in my dest empty to shovel everything into so they couldn't see it. I broke so many models that way lol. I don't even know why I cared because most people "girls" included usually thinnk they are "neat". Well it does help when you have a huge emperors children army that's painted neon pink. But in all seriousness if a woman or anyone else thinks less of you because you paint models and playy a game that requires intelligence and the ability to plan and react then they are shallow and probably not worth your time or anybody elses for that matter.

Been in a relationship for a good few years... have always been a gamer. Got her into D&D a few years back, but it has also been a long time since I've done that. She wants me to DM an introductory game with one of her friends on Thursday. She has painted a couple of my spare models, but doesn't find it to be a terribly engaging hobby on her part. She is, however, a paint consultant.

Meh. Never had a love life with a woman. I'm only 15 (nearly 16), but most of the guys I know have fairly serious relationships, probably because most people at my high school will all go to the same college (it's not like an American college, it's what we call the last two years of school over here). To be honest, I don't think I'm very appealing. I *have* been told that I have a handsome and manly face, but it's my reputation that stabs me in the back.

People are like dice, a certain Frenchman said that. You throw yourself in the direction of your own choosing. People are free because they can do that. Everyone's circumstances are different, but no matter how small the choice, at the very least, you can throw yourself. It's not chance or fate. It's the choice you made. |

Got engaged very recently (the 3rd of July), fantasitic lady, and much more intelligent and attractive than a pudgy bugger like I should reasonably expect. I have done serious single time in the past tho.
I made sure that the '40k-gear' was on the table the first time she came over to my house, so that she was aware of my obsession before committing to further dates. Im happy to say that this didnt scare her off!

Amen to that! I have the most incredibly supportive girl who loves to play, even if she's too lazy to make her own army and just uses mine... But I don't care, game time is some of our best time.

I voted Married with kids but we are only engaged at the moment, with 2 great children.
My 5 year old son loves his Blood Angels, so we get games in occasionaly, he's still getting the hang of the rules but he can kill my Guard pretty well.
My fiancee gives me a little bit of stick about it but it's all good natured, calls my Minis dollies and stuff like that.
Although she gives me great painting advice, what colours go with what others and when things look heinous.
