I would make my own which would consist of Eschers only, female army for the win!

Otherwise Death Korps of Krieg models looks great.

Valhallans all the way. They hit my Soviet trappings button. Same one that pushes me towards Khador and Red Blok in other games. Plus it's just nice to be the guy at the table who's not fielding Cadians or Catachans. And you get the awesome Soviet style tank slogans. What sounds cooler on a Russ?

"For the Emperor!"

OR

"The workers of manifactorum 317 will smash the godless enemies of the immortal God Emperor!"

Ideally, Valhallan mixed-sex regiment, including good old ciaphas cain. Also, an artillery regiment w/hydras and Cain in a salamander.

In practice, because I dont have infinite money, or epic modelling skills (not doing a half-arsed attempt at Cain's rabble, i'd cry if they looked bad), I'm using Cadian models as some dudes from a shrine world, which I have not yet thought of a name for.

I collect:
Guard - 2k of mostly infantry
DA - 2k of deathwing, 2k of other bits (no vehicles)
Sisters - mostly converted/proxy because I'm waiting for therange to go plastic.
Tau - 2k with no riptides because I can.

Yes, but in an army with Caiphas Cain, you need Inquisitor Amberly.

Congratulations, your dismissive and conclusory commentary has provided nothing to this discussion or the wider community on whose behalf you arrogantly presume to speak nor does it engage in any meaningful way the remark it lamely targets. But you did manage to gain experience points toward your next level of internet tough guy.

I went for Tallarn (accurate flank attacks, great fun!), but they would have to release some plastics and a new mini for Captain Al'Aharem.

Shes not always there, but point. If I'm converting Valhallan models to females, I dont think doing one inquisitor would be that hard... her rules are fail, though, as she's got at least a 3+ invulnerable from that teleport-shield thing... Personally, i'd house-rule it somehow, but points cost for that when she carries sod all weapons would be just wrong. Ditto using her without some crazyness.

you could always use the rules for an inquisiter.

oooooh, tough choice between vostroyan and Krieg. but for an entirely new army, I'd probably go with Krieg. Uber Awesome Helmets!

Valhallan, cause of Cain, and Jurgen.. wish we had rules for those, as well as for Amberly.. as well as a cheap/easy accessible Salamander Scout vehicle.

Being a ww1 buck I love the look of the death korps of krieg. They remind me of british and belgian soldiers on the belgian front(1917 IIRC).

...Or mid-late (1915-1918) German soldiers. The "Kaiser Helmet" was only used for the first few years of the war. The M42 style helmet was used for the other 3/4 or so of the First World War

Vostroyans I see as either Tsarist Russians, or Prussians.

Looks like DKoK take the no. 1 spot. Followed closely by Cadian, Elysian, Valhallan and Vostran.

Yeap. the men from kreig are pretty bad arse if you ask me...

-They bombed their own planet
-They always demand the most insane battlegrounds to fight in
-They are one of the most genocide loving armies in 40K

i am starting a custom army *made from kit-bashing cadians and catachans, with the odd bit or too from SM and others. But besides the point i wanted a army that can show history, it could have once been a combined regiments of catachans cadians and others and new campaigns and battles has changed them and new recruits from different worlds gives a variety of character.

i am the right hand of my emperor,

So I take it you did not play 40K when Human Bombs were an IG choice?

I picked "Other" because somehow Steel Legion did not make your list.
I love the image of the Armored Fist type IG army all mounted.
I just wish GW had finished making the special weapon troopers,
I'm missing Flamers and Melta Gun troopers.

The RT-era Human Bombs weren't Tallarns, though.
