OKAY. day 12, update 4 :]
right, so no picture of the first completed CSM due to extreme camera battery failure.

however i have pictures of:
1. PIP sorcerer
2. WIP obliterators (skull faces need greenstuffing and MOAR armour!)

metallifan-in the end i went with an easier option of leaving the shoulder pads off the arms and adding some greenstuff skin around the shoulders. i reckon this balances out the weediness of the body somewhat. IMO anyway
and i agree, doom and quake would be awesome reference points, i never even thought of that o.o

Great Unclean One- that was my intention, to make him look like some kind of badass mad surgeon from hell. I will be using converted CSM for the most part, its just these will represent one unit of Plague Marines to give the army some lastability xD

Probably for the best, at least no-one can whine with 'Eww but he's tiny I can't see him, he should be bigger, your using a proxy, EWWW!'

This time when the guy starts moaning about LOS and Counts as models just pick up your demon prince and compare it to a GW one and just raise your eyebrow!

One thing I just wanted to ask on the subject of Demon Princes, does anyone know if Karchev the Terrible from Warmachine would be a suitable size to be a Demon Prince?

The Sorceror is looking really cool, I love the purple cloak and I like the sound of the CSM's and the Oblits look good, an origional idea and very inventive!

The look is very unique i have to say atleast! But truly an amazing deamon prince lord and sorcerer you got there!

I like the Asphyixious, but it doesn't really say Sorc, says pGaspy with chainswords to me (especially standing next to that fantastic demon prince).

As for the Chaos Lord I have to admit I'm pretty much impressed!!! Nice take with the Chirurgeon + Zombie arm!!!

Of course, the DP's very characterful!!!

Just one suggestion for the Sorcerer, you should add some more 40k bitz, I think it looks a bit out of the place (I mean, not GW-ish enough, if you see what I mean...)

Breaker/Yggdrasil: i agree, but i'll rarely use the sorcerer. it'll be lord/DP combo most of the time anyways in standard games. he's just backup for APOC. and also thanks to both of you ;]

update on thursday or friday with painted lord and sorcerer, stage 3 of DP greenstuffing and hopefully some more conversion work

I agree, convert the men you've got with GW bitz, if you use a GW shop to game in then I think the rule of thumb generally is you have to convert it so much that you can't tell what the origional model was with GW bitz.

Other than that I would have thought you would use the sorceror/DP combo, lash in 40k games? Cheesy but fun ^_^

Really though, sounds good. Doom 3 and the Quake games would be great referances when building these guys as they both featured semi-organic creatures as grunt infantry.

thanks again :]. been neglecting this a bit, due to lack of funds and an internet connection. i'll be coming back to it pretty soon, once i start back at college and start getting my EMA again with which to buy some pretty pretty models to hack up

on Great Unclean One's point, i think this it gonna be the road i'll go down. its getting far too tedious converting BILLIONS of Scrap Thralls, and this'll make the army more WYSIWYG.
