Oh, another quick question. Gift of Chaos can be used in close combat... But can you target a unit engaged in close combat even if your psyker isn't engaged?

The rule says: "The psyker may be in close combat at the time as may the target." So I say "yes" you can target another model that is engaged even if you aren't.

I have considered putting him in with a raptor squad as well, but I also have a rules question regarding this strategy. Can I deepstrike and use the ability THAT turn. GoC says: "A psyker may use this power at the beginning of his turn." I am just confused whether deepstriking counts as the beginning of his turn and I miss the oppurtunity to cast it since I am counted as a moved model.

I have also considered using a lone sorcerer (no unit attachment) with wings to just dive into the thick of it and start mutating models. If you can deepstrike and use it the same turn, I think it can really be effective. Is the sorcerer an easy kill for the opponent? I think he is, however, the enemy will have to dedicate a heavy weapon or an entire squad to kill a single sorcerer. just a thought I had. For 150 pts or so, it might be worth taking and trying out.

By the time you have Deep struck it is NOT the start of your turn any longer - an action has occured before you try to use the power, so you have lost your chance.
