I hear that. I wish that the IG regiment Box Set was re released. It had 120 Models!!!

If I had a dollar for every dollar I spent I'd have all my money back.

Vallhallans please, Space Russians ftw!

Steel legion could be done with some simple changes to Vallhalans.

Again, making Generic IG Greatcoat bodies, along with Valhallan and Steel Legion Heads would be nice, and if anyone can contact GW, suggest these things.

They get people telling them to do this all the time. We're hardly the first people to come up with these ideas. They've probably been hearing the same ideas since Catachans first came out in plastic and people wondered what the next regiment to get plastics would be. We can always dream though!

Valhallans/Steel Legion don't mix. The coat lengths would throw it off.

A Vostroyan/Steel Legion "combination" would work. Especially if they had optional epaulets, etc for the models. Just extra bits to fancy 'em up.

As much as I hate Vostroyans, they're a far lesser evil than Praetorians/Mordians. Which I, frankly, find silly due to the dress uniform on the battlefield. No body armor, no spare kit. Just dress uniform with a few pockets and a fancy hat. Take away the shakos on the Vostroyans, and at least they still look somewhat like they're going to battle.

And another thing that's always bothered me:
Valhallans. No body armor, no real webbing or other details on the models.
Just a long coat, a bandolier, and a funny hat again.

And no, I don't really know why they bother me. I just know that something about them irks me. Greatcoats don't HAVE to conceal all detail. Look at the Krieg models.

Well, to be fair the greatcoats were made back in the 90s. Sculpting wasn't what it is today, especially compared to Forgeworld.

Renegade Guard would be cool but steel legion get my vote. I realy liked Steel legion but they didnt have enuff variety for me to colect them, the same could be said for all metal fig armys.

Yeah. Though I like the detail, I think that the metal models should be reserved for Leader units, just for the fact that if I had to even TRY to make an all-metal Ork army, I would kill myself.

I have to agree with Kanluwen, none of those horrible praetorians or mordians. their cheesy tight uniforms that come with nothing good for fighting are not for me either. They might as well come with a sweater vest and a bowtie.

Yes, though I think alot of people choose armies for their fluff opportunities, such as the Space marine Rainbow warriors. Seriously, not even the smallest Grot would fear that name.

Either way, I think that if GW did make like two generic sets of IG kitbash type Spacewolf things, then they should do Praetorians and Mordians, just for the fact that

1 the Mordian and Praetorian players wont whine
2 We get heads to detail our Leader's base with.

Traitor Guard has to be my first pick, Codex Lost and Damned is by far the more needed codex in 40k.

For loyalists, I'd love to see an update of the classic RT guard.

Look at them! Look how hopeless they are!

My biggest regret is still that I never bought these guys when they were in production.

I must say, that I like most IG regiments.

I think death korps of krieg are a bit silly, but as they could easily be made in a box of armageddon steel legion, they can stay =)
Valhallan are your winter fighters, and after reading the cain novels, I love 'em.
Cadian are, well, I wish they'd give us more options in the regular box, as they are the "generic" Guardsmen.
Catachans have allways had a place in my heart, though I now hope they re-do their basic box to match their command squad and new models..
Mordians... well, what can I say, I wish i'd bought these as they came out. I have 2 "army ideas" if I ever start these guys; either a US civil war army, (infantry, rough riders as cavalry, and mortars as cannons..... yum!) or a cityfight army.
Praetorians, well, after seing Zulu dawn, yeah, I like 'em. and they could be done along with a mordian box, just include head variants...

As kid kyoto though, I'd love to see bitz for traitor guard being tossed into the boxes. And the rogue trader IG, yeah, they're friggin stunning.

I like the clean-cut look of Mordians, and I think they'd make good Command Squad bodyguards or a platoon of Elite Palatial Guard.

Praetorians were definately silly though. Some people like them. I personally think they're up with the Vostroyans for "Over-The-Top Goofiness"

See, the difference between the Vostroyans and the Mordians--
You could potentially see a force like Vostroyans on the field. Mordians are a remnant of a bygone era, and should be left there.
And as for the Vostroyans being steampunked Valhallans...

Grimdark? Valhallans aren't nearly detailed enough to be fleshed out as an actual force. I mean, when your army's entire strategy is "KEEP RUNNING AT THEM!"--I can understand you not wanting to put more into the detail.

But quite frankly, I'd rather see a combination Vostroyan/Steel Legion kit. It would, in my opinion, work out far better than all this greatcoat yammering that folks want. The shakos have to be toned down on Vostroyans, yeah. But with a decent sized hat/an ornate looking helm--they'd look far, far better.

But really I just want plastic Kasrkin and a way to actually field an all Kasrkin Strike Force.

Well, one Robin, what do you play? and two, Valhallans do have alot of tactic in them. If you read the fluff, then you would have seen the fact that they are just stubbon. Alot of Guard regiments are the same, Mordians, Cadians, and Vostroyans. Also, all guard regiments have the tactic RUN AT THEM, just because that is there job,

Er no.
The Mordians, Cadians, and Vostroyans have the background of being stubborn for various reasons.
Mordians have a planet that was near an open Warp rift, and suffered daemonic incursions.
Cadians...well, it's Cadia.
Vostroyans have a culture built around making up for past sins.

Valhallans...well, there's no real tactics in levelling your own cities with mortars just to kill a few Orks.

+1 to a plastic DKoK/Generic Trenchcoat & Gasmask box. Elysians are good, but they don't strike me as an army that would be fielded in huge force. They seem like more of a fast-assault army deployed into small fireteams and infiltration squads. Think SAS/JTF2/SEALS

IMHO, i think that the DKoK, if done much the same aesthetically as the forgeworld ones, should be the ones to be made plastic, as with a few extra bits, you could easily make steel legion or DKoK.

or, they should do a warhawk/elysian combined box (similar to the steel legion/DKoK box idea)

the only problems i could forsee.. is if they added the various regiments to the tank commander sprue.

Also, the RT guard would be nice. i think I would make a Diorama where they are fighting Chaos during The Great Betrayal.

Well see, just like the issue of Steel Legion/DKoK--Elysian/Harakoni wouldn't work because of their equipment.

Harakoni, from the artwork we have, wear Cadian patterned armor--just they wear enough of it that the standard Warhawk looks like a member of the Kasrkin or a Grenadier.
Now, if you were to do Elysians and something like the Mordant or the Drookian Fen Guard...that'd work. Or if you were to redo the Tallarn's uniforms to be more modernized(Look at how troops in the desert dress now. It's standard fatigues--just lighter for the most part; with a few non-standard kit bits like shemaghs, or lighter pattern helmets).
