Uhhhh..... Flash Gordon was an awesome movie! Especially for it's time. I still remember cringing when Flash got stung by the wood stump beast.

And also the original dune movie wasn't bad, definatly not terrible.

The D&D movie however was just plain terrible. Damadar with the blue lipstick and guys walking around with 3rd eyes and licking their lips, was just creepy.

I belive your refering to the one with Michael Cain (sadly I can't remember the name).
Or perhaps your refering to "Dr.Terrors house of Horror",a film comprised of 5 short stories, one of wich features Christopher Lee (as an art critic who has caused an artist he ridiculed to loose his hand) being attacked and pursued by said hand.

I agree with Frazzie today. How ominous.

Flash Gordon is a double helping of first rate entertainment. If you think it hammed up and cheesy you are missing the point.

Do yourself a big favour and find a copy of Dungeons and Dragons: Wrath of the Dragon God.

The sequel is low budget, and it shows through in the FX; but the acting is good, it properly portrays D&D, and it has a decent intelligent story. A good example of a sequel that completely overshadows the orginal, pity few have heard of it. Double pity that they didnt swap budgets with the first D&D movie.

I know what movie I'm buying this weekend.........

I'll throw in Armageddeon. It bothers me because of 1) Ben Affleck and 2) they drill an angle hole instead of a vertical hole while trying to reach a certain depth. Yes, I consider it a bad movie, but it is entertaining and I do stop and watch it anytime it's on.

Definately worth it, regardless of any semi-nekid activities.

It has been a while since I have watched this, but they could be drilling to a fault line, hence needing to drill at an angle. They may also be on a "hill" on the surface of the asteriod, hence need to drill at an angle in order to get to the centre.

I am afraid I can't help you with Ben Affleck...

Ah, but they never bring that up. It's always that they have to get to a depth of like 800 feet. I'm around exploratory drilling in my career, and it's just one of those things that drives me nuts. Also, what are they using for drilling fluid? It's not an air rotary rig. In space, I can believe the bit doesn't heat up enough to need cooled, but somehow, you have to get the bits of rock out of the hole.

I think that everyone that 'knows' more than the director did about a topic can always find holes to pick in the plot. This is just my bug-a-boo.

Second movie. The Rock with Sean Connery and Nicholas Cage. Two reasons: 1) Nicholas Cage, and 2) the scene where the SEAL team is killed. It doesn't bother me that the SEALs are killed, but each one of them should have had a mercenary in their cross-hairs, and there should have been an equal number of dead mercs, if not more.

Apparently I'm the only person who liked the Hulk with Eric Bana (of the people I know in the real world), I also really, really like Kung-Pow: Enter the Fist.

You're not. I liked the Hulk with Eric Bana. I thought having the Absorbing Man as the villian was -meh- and I'm not much of a Nick Nolte fan anyway, but I liked the film. I thought it suffered a bit from the 'first movie has to tell the origin' syndrome. Personally, I had hoped they'd let Ang Lee do a sequel, because I figured it would have been pretty good. I thought Bana and Connelly were excellent.

In the Norton version, I didn't like Norton or Liv Tyler nearly as much. In some films, I think Norton is great, and in others - it's like he's trying too hard or something, because he just doesn't work for me. I don't think Liv is that attractive and I always think she looks like she's constipated. Tim Roth was good, but he always is. And William Hurt as Thunderbolt Ross was okay, but I thought that Sam Elliott did the OTT Ross role better. I think the storyline for the Norton film was better, but they managed to avoid the 'origin story' plotline too. Personally, I won't be disappointed if Norton doesn't reprise the role for the Avengers.

Kung-Pow was a great movie.

Anuvver fing - when they do sumfing, they try to make it look like somfink else to confuse everybody. When one of them wants to lord it over the uvvers, 'e says "I'm very speshul so'z you gotta worship me", or "I know summink wot you lot don't know, so yer better lissen good". Da funny fing is, arf of 'em believe it and da over arf don't, so 'e 'as to hit 'em all anyway or run fer it.

I really liked the new Pink Panther movie with Steve Martin. It get's a lot of bad rep, but I think it's hilarious. I haven't seen the sequel yet.

And despise the fact, that it is deeply flawed, I really like TMNT.

Totally agree on the cast of Incredible Hulk. I'll take Jennifer Connelly in a movie over 90% of Hollywood females. Sam Elliott was fantastic (I could see him as Ross more-so than Hurt). It just seems that people rip on this movie a lot because it took some time to develop the story and Lee was more worried about getting the story and style just right. Personally it felt more like a comic book (in terms of visual styles and production) than anything other than Spiderman 1. That made it more unique and appealling to me than Norton Hulk.

Nah, some other hand movie. Damn, now I can't come up with it. In the final scene the hand has been mailed to the protagonist and kills him. or her. whatever. It was a horrible movie, don't watch anything with a disembodied handthat doesn't have Micheal Caine or Bruce "Don't call me Ashe" Campbell.
