My dear lad I salute you.
People, remember the thread isn't "your favourite bands". It's Best Band Ever.
Otherwise I would have Manowar up. And that would NOT be good.

If I had to choose one, it would be Led Zeplin.

I completely respect your opinion, but for me I do not like the blues. While Zeplin does a good job with their music, I don't like the genre.
Ahh good point. Being a blues man myself I can see how my opinion would be biased. But also being a guitarist myself, Jimmy Page is one of the all time greats. Up there with Clapton, SRV and Hendrix. (By the way all Blues men themselves)

It's a bit hard to decide so I'll make the list.

Completely agree with this statement.
On Dakka he was Eldanar. In our area, he was Lee. R.I.P., Lee Guthrie.

I must be gettin' old because I only recognize 2 names on that list. Beck and Tool.
I know and love my music. Well, except for gospel and blues and jazz and 99% of rap/hip hop.
I could also throw in Van Halen (though I prefer the Sammy Hagar over David Lee Roth), Blondie, Jimi Hendrix (though not a band unto himself I still count him up there), The Eagles, AC/DC (Brian Johnson is way better frontman than Angus Young. Angus has a gakky voice) and then all the way up to the hardcore metal and rock.
Classic rock is where I go for most of my listening needs. I like to play 40k to metal/hard rock. I usually paint to classic rock.

Ok,have to make one correction Fate, Bon Scott was AC/DCs vocalist (until he passed away in 1980) and was replaced by Brian Johnson,Angus Young has always been the Lead Guitar player.
Secondly,...Van Hagar??...really?? ,well to each their own.
Third..no Jazz or Blues?..I shudder to think of such a world.
Now for the part of the show where I agree with Fate,I also don't care for most recent Hip hop/rap. I like alot of the older stuff, but most of what I've heard in the last 10 years is basicly a shoping list set to beats or cheap immitations of performers who did it better years before.
I am both selfish and chaotic. I value self-gratification and control; I want to have things my way, preferably now. At best, I'm entertaining and surprising; at worst, I'm hedonistic and violent.
